Tourexpi
Scheduled to open in 2026, the hotel will be managed by IHG and will further enhance the company’s premium offering in one of Saudi Arabia’s most important religious and cultural destinations.
Strategically located opposite the new Haramain high-speed train station, the hotel will feature direct access via an underground tunnel, offering guests seamless connectivity to key cities such as Jeddah and Makkah. The property is part of a larger mixed-use development and sits close to major upcoming projects like Knowledge Economic City and Rua Al Madinah, making it ideal for both leisure and business travellers seeking modern comfort just outside the bustling city centre.
Once completed, the hotel will offer 383 elegantly designed rooms and suites, along with two signature dining outlets. It will reflect the Crowne Plaza brand’s premium positioning, with a strong emphasis on harmonising work and leisure for today’s sophisticated traveller.
Haitham Mattar, Managing Director, IHG Hotels & Resorts, India, Middle East and Africa, stated:
“As the Kingdom advances its tourism and hospitality sectors in alignment with Vision 2030, we are proud to support this transformation by introducing globally recognised brands and exceptional guest experiences. Our partnership with Arbah Tayba Real Estate Company to launch Crowne Plaza Madinah Al Haramain is a key milestone in our growth journey in Saudi Arabia.”
He continued:
“Crowne Plaza is a brand designed for balance—helping guests connect, collaborate and recharge. Its versatile offering is well suited for the diverse visitors of Madinah, from pilgrims to an increasing number of business travellers. We look forward to contributing to the city’s evolving hospitality landscape.”
Abdulaziz Al Qafary, CEO of Arbah Tayba Real Estate Company, added:
“We are pleased to work alongside IHG Hotels & Resorts on this landmark project, which reflects our joint ambition to help shape the future of Madinah. With its prime location and direct transport access, Crowne Plaza Madinah Al Haramain is tailored to meet the needs of today’s traveller—delivering world-class convenience, connectivity, and service. This collaboration is a step forward in our vision to create developments that support both accessibility and guest satisfaction while contributing to Madinah’s long-term urban growth.”
Madinah is experiencing rapid development as part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, with numerous government-led initiatives and mega projects aiming to enhance its role as a spiritual and tourism hub. Infrastructure, transport, and hospitality upgrades are central to this transformation.
Crowne Plaza continues to be a pioneer in blending business and leisure, offering well-appointed guest rooms, adaptable meeting spaces, and communal areas that foster productivity and relaxation. With a bold, modern brand identity, Crowne Plaza is expanding its presence in gateway cities and urban destinations across the globe.
IHG currently operates 45 hotels across six brands in Saudi Arabia—including InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Staybridge Suites, and voco—and has 47 additional hotels in the pipeline, set to open within the next three to five years.
