Traveloka and Marriott International have entered a
multi-year distribution agreement designed to strengthen Marriott's presence
across Indonesia and Southeast Asia. Under the partnership, Traveloka becomes
Marriott's Certified Online Travel Partner, providing travelers with direct
access to real-time rates and availability across the hospitality group's
global portfolio.
The agreement connects Marriott's reservation
inventory directly with Traveloka's booking platform, allowing travelers to
discover, compare and reserve accommodations more efficiently. The expanded
offering includes luxury brands such as JW Marriott and W Hotels, premium
brands including Westin and Sheraton, as well as select-service brands such as
Moxy and Aloft.
Growing travel demand drives strategic partnership
The collaboration comes as Southeast Asia continues to
rank among the world's fastest-growing tourism markets. The region's tourism
economy is projected to increase from USD 35.5 billion in 2025 to USD 67.4
billion by 2031 and is expected to account for 15.4 percent of global travel
demand.
By integrating directly with Traveloka's platform,
Marriott aims to increase the visibility of its properties across one of the
region's leading travel marketplaces, accelerate market access and strengthen
engagement with travelers throughout Indonesia and Southeast Asia.
Marriott portfolio sees rising interest
Demand for Marriott hotels on Traveloka has grown
steadily in recent months, with searches increasing significantly across the
platform. Travelers are booking an expanding range of Marriott properties
throughout Asia Pacific, particularly in Indonesia, where Four Points hotels in
Makassar, Surabaya, Medan and Bandung have recorded strong interest alongside
Sheraton and Marriott Hotels.
"Indonesia remains one of Marriott
International's most exciting markets in the region, and we see tremendous
opportunity to expand our presence and connect more travelers with our diverse
portfolio of brands and experiences. Our collaboration with Traveloka
strengthens our ability to engage travelers at every stage of their journey,
making discovery and booking more seamless than ever. As Southeast Asia's
all-in-one travel tech platform, Traveloka is an important strategic partner,
helping us broaden our reach, unlock new opportunities, and deliver greater
choice and convenience to travelers across Indonesia," said John Toomey,
Chief Commercial Officer, Asia Pacific excluding China, Marriott International.
Expansion plans continue across the region
Marriott currently operates nearly 90 properties in
Indonesia and continues to grow through an extensive development pipeline.
Across Southeast Asia, the company is also expanding in markets including
Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia, supported by continued investments through
2030.
Traveloka sees the agreement as an opportunity to
further enhance the booking experience by combining its regional market
knowledge with advanced technology and artificial intelligence.
"At Traveloka, we help travelers find the right
stay at the right moment — and increasingly, that means understanding intent
before a traveler has finalized their plans. When a hospitality company of
Marriott's standing chooses to expand access to its portfolio through our
all-in-one travel platform, it reflects the trust the world's leading travel
brands place in Traveloka's reach and traveler insight across Southeast Asia.
By combining Marriott's world-class portfolio with our regional data and AI-powered
recommendations, we can deliver a more relevant booking experience while
supporting Marriott's continued growth in the region," said Yady Guitana,
Chief Financial Officer of Traveloka.
Focus on long-term tourism growth
According to both companies, the partnership is
intended to create additional value for travelers while supporting the
continued development of Southeast Asia's tourism industry. By combining
Marriott's global hotel portfolio with Traveloka's regional reach, technology
and traveler insights, the collaboration aims to offer greater choice,
convenience and a more personalized booking experience for customers across the
region.
