Hapag-Lloyd Cruises has opened bookings for its
2026/2027 Christmas and New Year programme, offering a collection of festive
voyages aboard its entire fleet. From Caribbean islands and the Indian Ocean to
Nordic winter landscapes and the Antarctic, the luxury and expedition cruises
combine seasonal celebrations with exceptional destinations, personalised
service and unforgettable travel experiences.
Festive celebrations in extraordinary destinations
The programme offers guests the opportunity to spend
Advent, Christmas and New Year in some of the world's most distinctive
locations. Whether celebrating Christmas Eve on Saint-Barthélemy, welcoming the
New Year off Barbados or exploring Antarctica's dramatic ice landscapes, each
itinerary combines the festive atmosphere with the comfort and exclusivity of
Hapag-Lloyd Cruises' small ships.
On board the luxury ships EUROPA and EUROPA 2, guests
can enjoy flexible dining, outstanding cuisine, cultural enrichment and
spacious surroundings, while the expedition ships HANSEATIC nature, HANSEATIC
inspiration and HANSEATIC spirit offer expert-led explorations, Zodiac
excursions and close encounters with nature in some of the world's most remote
regions.
Caribbean sunshine for the festive season
The EUROPA begins the festive programme with an Advent
voyage from New York to Miami, calling at Caribbean destinations including
Saint-Barthélemy, Dominica, Saint Lucia, Bonaire, Curaçao and Jamaica.
A second itinerary departs Miami shortly before
Christmas and returns in early January, allowing guests to spend Christmas Eve
on Saint-Barthélemy and celebrate New Year's Eve in Barbados while enjoying the
relaxed atmosphere of the Caribbean.
Indian Ocean adventures and African expeditions
The EUROPA 2 offers an Advent voyage through the
Indian Ocean, sailing from Mauritius to the Seychelles via Réunion, Madagascar,
Zanzibar and Mombasa. The itinerary combines tropical beaches, cultural
discoveries and contemporary luxury.
Meanwhile, the HANSEATIC spirit sails from Mauritius
to Cape Town via Madagascar, focusing on wildlife encounters, nature
experiences and Zodiac expeditions along the African coastline.
Winter magic in Northern Europe
For travellers seeking a traditional winter
atmosphere, the HANSEATIC nature offers two Nordic itineraries. An Advent
cruise explores winter destinations including Copenhagen, Stockholm, Visby,
Gdańsk and Kalmar before returning to Hamburg.
A longer Christmas and New Year voyage ventures
through Swedish and Finnish Lapland to Kemi on the Gulf of Bothnia, where
guests may experience frozen landscapes, Arctic winter scenery and, weather
permitting, the Northern Lights.
Antarctica offers a unique New Year celebration
The expedition fleet also heads south for the festive
season. The HANSEATIC inspiration sails from Ushuaia to Antarctica via the
Falkland Islands, South Georgia, the South Orkney Islands, the South Shetland
Islands and the Weddell Sea, combining wildlife encounters with spectacular
polar landscapes.
One of the programme's most distinctive voyages is the
HANSEATIC spirit's "From Cape to Cape" expedition, linking Cape Town
with Ushuaia via Tristan da Cunha, South Georgia and the Antarctic Peninsula.
The route connects two continents and a remarkable variety of ecosystems,
offering guests one of the expedition fleet's most ambitious and nature-focused
itineraries.
