Eurowings is dedicating the cover of its summer
edition of WINGS to Aurélie Carina, the newly crowned winner of Germany's Next
Top Model (GNTM) and a member of the airline's cabin crew. By placing one of
its own employees on the magazine's front page, the airline is paying tribute
to her achievement while highlighting the people behind the Eurowings brand.
The summer issue will reach around five million passengers across Europe during
the peak travel season.
A rare departure from tradition
The cover of WINGS is traditionally reserved for
striking nature photography. Shortly after Aurélie's victory in the GNTM final
in Hollywood, Eurowings decided to break with that long-standing design concept
and dedicate the cover to one of its own colleagues instead of sending a
conventional congratulatory message.
"In the fashion industry, a cover symbolises
recognition, visibility, and exceptional achievement. Dedicating the latest
issue of WINGS to Aurélie is our most sincere way of saying: We are proud of
you," says Max Kownatzki, CEO of Eurowings. "What we are most
delighted by is that, despite everything – the hustle and bustle, the glamour,
the public eye – she will remain one of us. That says it all."
A tribute to the entire Eurowings team
For Eurowings, the cover story goes beyond celebrating
a modelling success. The airline sees Aurélie as a representative of the more
than 5,500 employees who contribute to the company every day.
"To us, Aurélie isn't just some celebrity passing
through," says Kownatzki. "She is a very versatile, talented
colleague, a popular crew member, and a friendly face of the Eurowings family.
But her cover story is more than that: she represents the more than 5,500
Eurowings employees who shape the company. Aurélie's story shows the diverse
talents, passions, and life paths that lie behind the people on board and on
the ground."
Available on board from July
The summer edition of WINGS will be available on all
Eurowings flights from the beginning of July, bringing Aurélie's story to
millions of travellers throughout the summer season.
