These additions reflect Delta’s continued investment in LAX as a key gateway for both international and domestic travel.
“Launching service to Hong Kong and Chicago from LAX strengthens our presence in two of the world’s most dynamic markets,” said Paul Baldoni, SVP of Network Planning.
New Horizons: Hong Kong and Chicago
Hong Kong’s rich mix of tradition and modernity attracts travelers worldwide. Delta’s nonstop service offers direct access to this global hub along with over 30 one-stop connections. The route also boosts Delta Cargo’s transpacific network, supporting the transport of electronics, perishables, and e-commerce with Airbus A350 aircraft carrying over 20 tons of cargo per flight.
This expansion also enhances the Delta–Korean Air Joint Venture, improving options for transpacific travelers.
Delta’s new service to Chicago O’Hare links two major U.S. cities, catering to business and leisure passengers alike. For Midwestern travelers, it provides easy access to the West Coast and beyond via Delta’s LAX network.
Elevated Ground and Lounge Experience
At LAX, Delta One customers flying to Hong Kong will enjoy exclusive access to the new Delta One Lounge, featuring nearly 200 seats, a sushi bar, wellness area with massage chairs, and concierge-style check-in.
In Chicago, eligible passengers can relax in the newly opened Delta Sky Club in Terminal 5, a 22,000-square-foot premium space, part of Delta’s $50 million investment in the terminal.
Onboard Comfort and Connectivity
The Hong Kong route will be flown with Delta’s Airbus A350-900, offering Delta One, Premium Select, Comfort, and Main Cabin. Delta One includes lie-flat seats, premium bedding, and curated meals.
The Chicago flights will use Boeing 737-800 aircraft with Delta First, Comfort, and Main Cabin. All cabins feature seatback entertainment, free Wi-Fi for SkyMiles Members, and power at every seat.
Ongoing Investment in LAX and Community
Delta is LAX’s largest global carrier, with more than 160 daily departures to 50+ destinations, including Shanghai and Melbourne. Its $2.3 billion terminal transformation includes the new Sky Way and a state-of-the-art Terminal 3.
Beyond the airport, Delta supports over 30 nonprofits and 20 community partners in Southern California and proudly sponsors the LA Lakers. As a founding partner of the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Delta continues to connect Los Angeles to the world—now including the heart of Chicago and the skyline of Hong Kong.
