Travellers
booking flights with Condor can now choose to round up the total amount of
their ticket to the next €10, €20, €50, or €100 – with 100% of the additional
amount going directly toward the purchase of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).
This
new option reflects Condor’s response to customer feedback from a recent
survey, which revealed a strong desire for simple, accessible ways to
contribute to sustainable travel. By offering the ability to round up during
the booking process, Condor expands its climate-conscious options and promotes
broader participation in aviation decarbonisation.
How
it works:
When
finalising a booking, after entering flight and passenger information, guests
are presented with the opportunity to voluntarily round up their payment in the
checkout screen. The chosen round-up amount is invested exclusively in SAF
procurement, enabling Condor to refuel with quantities exceeding the mandatory
minimum.
Additional
Sustainability Options:
The
“Round up for the future” initiative complements Condor’s existing climate
contribution options. Travellers can make voluntary contributions during or
after booking to support SAF use and certified climate protection projects.
Additionally, the Green Fare—available across all routes and booking
classes—calculates climate support based on the kerosene-related CO₂ emissions
specific to the selected class.
Condor
remains firmly committed to the aviation industry’s goal of achieving carbon
neutrality by 2050. A key pillar of this effort is the airline’s modernised
fleet: since March 2024, all Condor long-haul flights have been operated
exclusively with fuel-efficient Airbus A330neo aircraft. Fleet renewal
continues on short- and medium-haul routes with 43 A32Xneo aircraft currently
on order.
