Thailand Tourism Forum 2025: A Vision for Sustainable and Future-Ready Travel
Hosted
by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports in collaboration with UN Tourism and
various partners, the event aimed to shape a sustainable tourism model for the
future.
Key
speakers included Minister of Tourism and Sports Sorawong Thienthong, Vice
Minister Jakraphon Tangsutthitham, and senior officials from both public and
private sectors. UN Tourism representatives shared insights on global trends,
emphasizing the importance of sustainability, inclusivity, and crisis
resilience.
Minister
Thienthong outlined Thailand’s five strategic priorities: shifting from mass
tourism to value-driven experiences, supporting community-based tourism in
secondary cities, leveraging digital economy and soft power, exploring diverse
source markets, and enhancing preparedness for future challenges.
The
“Thailand Model” presented during the forum envisions a sustainable tourism
strategy that balances economic growth with environmental and social
responsibility, positioning Thailand as a leading global destination.
