The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is presenting Molam
World with Amazing Thailand at Wonderfruit 2025, marking the festival’s 10th
anniversary from 11 to 15 December at The Fields, Siam Country Club in Chon
Buri. Supported through TAT’s Event Marketing programme for the ninth
consecutive year, Wonderfruit serves as a live international platform for
Thailand’s new global campaign, Unforgettable Experience: Healing is the New
Luxury, positioning the country as a destination for high-value, experience-driven
travel.
A decade of Wonderfruit as a cultural meeting point
Under the theme Decade of Wonder, Wonderfruit has
grown into an internationally recognised gathering that connects people through
art, music and Thai ways of life. For TAT, the festival represents more than a
branding opportunity. It translates strategic priorities into immersive, on-site
experiences that highlight Thailand’s strengths in wellness, creativity,
culture and sustainability, while generating economic impact and reinforcing
the country’s reputation as a world-class tourism and events destination.
“Wonderfruit demonstrates the role of Event Marketing
in shaping Thailand’s international tourism profile. Through nine consecutive
years of support, TAT has brought together culture, wellness and sustainability
in ways that resonate with today’s mindful travellers. Molam World with Amazing
Thailand and the application of Amazing Thailand Sustainable Tourism show how
Thai identity and responsible tourism can create lasting value for visitors and
communities,” says Mr. Nithee Seeprae, TAT Deputy Governor for Marketing
Communications.
Molam World introduces northeastern Thai heritage
At the heart of TAT’s presence is Molam World with
Amazing Thailand, a dedicated cultural zone presenting the heritage of
northeastern Thailand to a global audience. Through the Molam Theatre, molam is
showcased as a living cultural expression rooted in community life and
storytelling. Performances by Thai and international artists reinterpret
traditional sounds in a contemporary, immersive format, inviting audiences to
connect through rhythm, movement and shared participation.
Culinary traditions as part of well-being
TAT’s Open Kitchen adds another dimension by
highlighting Thai culinary wisdom from all five regions, using locally sourced
ingredients. The programme frames food as an element of holistic well-being,
with dishes inspired by northern herbal rice traditions, northeastern sticky
rice and som tam, central Thai pomelo salad and mackerel, eastern fruit-based
beverages paired with sea salt and shrimp paste, and southern-style spicy
mushroom creations. Together, these offerings present Thai cuisine as both cultural
heritage and nourishment.
Participatory culture and sustainable tourism
Further cultural depth comes from Phi Ta Khon
performances by the local community of Dan Sai District in Loei Province,
accompanied by hands-on workshops where participants create and decorate masks.
These activities reflect TAT’s focus on participatory culture as a pathway to
emotional and spiritual renewal, blending tradition with creativity in an
accessible international setting.
Aligned with its sustainability priorities, TAT is
promoting Wonderfruit 2025 under the Amazing Thailand Sustainable Tourism
emblem. The endorsement reflects the festival’s strong environmental and
community focus and connects it with other healing-oriented events supported by
TAT nationwide, including Dragonfly Summit 2025, Krabi Rewild and Life Expo
2025.
Economic impact and international reach
Wonderfruit continues to demonstrate the economic
value of experience-led events. In 2024, the festival welcomed up to 25,000
visitors per day, with most attendees travelling from outside Chon Buri.
International guests stayed an average of 7.7 days in Thailand and spent around
120,000 Baht per person, generating a total economic impact of 710.73 million
Baht and benefits across the national tourism supply chain.
As Wonderfruit marks a decade of growth, TAT’s
long-standing partnership underscores the festival’s role as a global connector
of culture, creativity and community, and as a driver of sustainable,
high-value tourism for travellers seeking meaningful, healing-led experiences.
