Tourexpi
Scheduled
to open in the first quarter of 2029, the 200-room hotel will enhance IHG’s
footprint in one of India’s major IT parks and strengthen its position in a key
growth market.
Holiday
Inn Bengaluru Electronic City will feature IHG’s next-generation Open Lobby
concept, designed as a flexible space where guests can work, relax, or dine.
This aligns with the brand’s focus on modern travel needs and builds on Holiday
Inn’s global presence of over 1,200 hotels.
The
hotel will include 200 guest rooms and suites, three dining venues, four
meeting spaces including a ballroom, a fitness centre, swimming pool, and ample
parking. It will serve both business and leisure travelers and become the
second Holiday Inn property in the city, each catering to different areas of
demand.
Sudeep
Jain, Managing Director for South West Asia at IHG Hotels & Resorts,
highlighted the importance of this development, calling it a significant step
in IHG’s broader strategy for India. He noted that the partnership with
Thanishq Hospitality builds on the success of their previous project, Holiday
Inn Express Bengaluru Bommasandra.
Mr.
S. Sudeesh, Managing Partner at Thanishq Grande Hotels & Resorts,
emphasized the mutual trust between the companies and the potential of the new
hotel to meet the expectations of today’s travelers. Mr. R. Sundaram, also a
partner at Thanishq, pointed to the strategic location of Electronic City and
its relevance for both corporate and leisure guests.
Bengaluru
is a major center for technology, education, and innovation in India. It hosts
leading institutions such as the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), IIM
Bangalore, and key national organizations in aerospace and design. Electronic
City, being one of the country’s largest IT parks, underlines the city’s role
as a tech-driven metropolis.
IHG
currently operates 48 hotels in India under six brands, including
InterContinental, Six Senses, Crowne Plaza, voco, Holiday Inn, and Holiday Inn
Express. A further 63 hotels are planned for opening in the coming 3 to 5
years.
