W Hotels, part of Marriott Bonvoy's luxury hotel
portfolio, has opened W Riyadh – KAFD, marking the brand's first property in
Saudi Arabia.
Located in Riyadh's King Abdullah Financial District
(KAFD), the 210-room hotel combines luxury accommodation with contemporary
design, multiple dining concepts and extensive wellness and event facilities.
The opening further expands Marriott International's presence in the Kingdom's
growing luxury hospitality sector.
Design inspired by Saudi heritage
Designed by LW Design, the hotel draws inspiration
from Saudi Arabia's cultural heritage, incorporating references to traditional
Najdi textiles, Al Sadu weaving patterns and the country's desert and mountain
landscapes.
A six-metre tapestry by Saudi artist Abdulnasser
Gharem forms the centrepiece of the lobby, while guestrooms feature artwork
combining Arabic and English typography alongside interiors accented with
green, ruby, gold and bronze tones.
The hotel offers 210 guestrooms, including 17 suites,
two penthouse suites and the 390-square-metre W Penthouse, which includes two
bedrooms, living and dining areas, a private office, fitness space, steam room
and sauna.
New dining concepts for Riyadh
W Riyadh – KAFD introduces several dining venues
designed as social gathering spaces throughout the day.
Sira serves Latin American-inspired cuisine prepared
in an open-fire kitchen, while Beni combines specialty coffee with artisanal
ice cream in an all-day café setting. The outdoor WET Deck offers
Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, private cabanas and poolside seating.
Later this year, the hotel will also open Sahari, an
outdoor lounge dedicated to evening entertainment and live performances.
Wellness and events
The property features the brand's signature AWAY Spa,
a FIT fitness centre equipped with modern training facilities, and extensive
meeting and event space.
In total, the hotel offers 15 flexible meeting rooms
and a ballroom designed to accommodate both corporate events and social
functions.
According to Marriott International, the opening
represents another step in the expansion of its luxury lifestyle portfolio
across the Middle East while introducing the W Hotels brand to the Saudi
market.
