This
marks the debut of the voco brand in the Sultanate of Oman and represents a
strategic expansion of IHG’s premium portfolio in the Middle East.
The
new property will be situated in the heart of Al Mouj Muscat, a vibrant
waterfront community known for its luxury residences, marina, golf course, and
upscale retail offerings. With its central location, the resort will cater to
both leisure and business travellers, offering convenient access to Muscat
International Airport and nearby cultural landmarks.
Launched
in 2018, voco is IHG’s fastest-growing premium brand, known for its distinctive
style and attention to detail. It combines the charm and individuality of each
property with the reassurance of a globally trusted name. voco Al Mouj Muscat
will join a growing global network of over 100 open hotels and more than 95 in
development.
Haitham
Mattar, Managing Director for IHG Hotels & Resorts, India, Middle East
& Africa, commented:
“We
are delighted to bring the voco brand to Oman in partnership with Golden Group
Holding. Al Mouj Muscat is one of the region’s most exciting lifestyle
destinations, and we believe voco’s distinctive charm and premium hospitality
offering makes it a perfect fit. This signing supports Oman Vision 2040 by
contributing to the country’s tourism growth and economic diversification.”
Sheikh
Salem Al Ghazal, Chairman of Golden Group Holding, added:
“Partnering
with IHG to introduce voco to Oman is a major milestone in enhancing Muscat’s
hospitality landscape. voco’s mix of informal elegance and international
quality perfectly suits the dynamic character of Al Mouj. We are committed to
delivering a hotel that upholds excellence, celebrates Omani hospitality, and
appeals to travellers from around the world.”
Set
to open later this year, voco Al Mouj Muscat will feature 251 stylishly
appointed rooms and suites, five distinct dining venues including an all-day
dining restaurant, a speciality restaurant, and a lobby lounge. Additional
amenities will include a spa, swimming pool, fitness and business centres,
three meeting rooms, ample parking, and a barber shop – offering guests a
comprehensive premium experience.
IHG
currently operates nine hotels in Oman across five brands: Six Senses,
InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Hotel Indigo, and Holiday Inn. An additional
three properties are in the pipeline, scheduled to open within the next three
to five years.
