IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG) has announced the
accelerated growth of its premium brand voco hotels with nine new signings and
openings across Southern Europe. The expansion, adding more than 1,000 keys,
strengthens IHG’s footprint in key markets including France, Italy, Portugal,
Spain, and Türkiye.
Since its debut in 2018, voco has become IHG’s
fastest-growing premium brand and recently celebrated the opening of its 100th
hotel worldwide. Across Europe, the brand now includes 35 open and 22 pipeline
properties, each distinguished by an inviting design, relaxed ambience, and the
reliability of a global brand.
A flexible model driving rapid growth
The success of voco lies in its flexibility and
conversion-friendly approach, offering owners a quick route to market with
minimal upfront investment while benefiting from IHG’s powerful enterprise
platform.
Eric Viale, Managing Director, Southern Europe, CIS
& Georgia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said:
“We are delighted to see voco continue its remarkable
growth with nine new signings and openings in some of Southern Europe’s most
dynamic destinations. Owners value voco’s ability to deliver faster returns and
flexible design, while travellers are drawn to its warm, characterful style and
premium comfort. With demand for upscale hospitality rising across Europe, voco
is ideally positioned to meet that demand through its distinctive, laid-back
spirit.”
A brand built on connection
Rooted in the Latin word meaning “to invite”, voco
embodies warmth and connection. Every property balances the reliability of a
trusted brand with a unique local personality, expressed through the brand’s
three hallmarks: “Come on in”, “Me time”, and “voco life.”
