Hilton has signed agreements to develop two hotels near Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport, adding 600 rooms to its portfolio in one of India's fastest-growing business destinations. The development, undertaken in partnership with Bengaluru-based Kalyani Group, will comprise a Conrad Hotels & Resorts property and a Hilton Hotels & Resorts property, each offering 300 guest rooms. Both hotels are expected to open in 2030.
The project will be located within the KIADB Hi-Tech Defence and Aerospace Park, an expanding commercial district associated with technology, aerospace and industrial investment. Approximately 20 minutes from Kempegowda International Airport, the hotels are intended to serve international business travellers, corporate delegations, conference participants and leisure guests. The development will also include substantial meeting facilities, restaurants and wellness amenities.
For Hilton, the agreement represents another step in its expansion across India, where Bengaluru is already its largest market by number of hotels. The new properties will become the city's second Conrad and fourth Hilton hotel. The project also extends the company's relationship with Kalyani Group, following the opening of DoubleTree by Hilton Bengaluru Whitefield in 2024.
Major investment in meetings and events
A defining feature of the development will be its extensive conference and event facilities. Together, the two hotels will provide more than 72,000 square feet, approximately 6,690 square metres, of event space.
This capacity is intended to accommodate large corporate meetings, international conferences, business gatherings and social events. The combination of luxury accommodation and extensive meeting facilities within a single complex could make the development particularly relevant to India's expanding meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions sector.
The location within the aerospace and technology district is another important consideration. Bengaluru has established itself as a major centre for India's technology industry, attracting domestic and international companies as well as business visitors from across the world.
The planned hotels will address different segments of this market. Conrad Bengaluru Airport will focus on luxury hospitality, combining contemporary design with premium services and destination-oriented experiences. Hilton Bengaluru Airport will offer full-service accommodation for business and leisure travellers, with restaurants, meeting facilities and wellness amenities.
Both properties will operate within the Hilton Honors loyalty programme, providing members with access to the group's established booking benefits and digital services.
Bengaluru central to Hilton's India strategy
Hilton's latest agreement forms part of a broader expansion programme in India. The company aims to exceed 400 hotels across the country over the next decade, with Bengaluru remaining one of its principal development markets.
"This landmark signing represents a significant milestone in strengthening Hilton's presence in Bengaluru and reflects our long-term confidence in the market," said Alan Watts, President, Asia Pacific, Hilton.
He emphasised the importance of the city within the group's expansion plans and the opportunity to serve changing travel requirements as Bengaluru develops further as an international business and leisure destination.
Conrad Hotels & Resorts currently operates properties in Bengaluru and Pune, while another hotel is under development in Jaipur. The newly signed airport property will further extend the luxury brand's presence in India.
Hilton Hotels & Resorts currently has eight properties operating across the country, including locations in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Gurugram, Jaipur and Goa. Another eleven hotels under the brand are in development.
The Bengaluru project will therefore contribute to the group's expansion in both the luxury and full-service segments, allowing it to address different traveller requirements within the same development.
Partnership builds on Whitefield opening
The agreement also strengthens Hilton's relationship with Kalyani Developers, which has already collaborated with the international hotel group on the DoubleTree by Hilton Bengaluru Whitefield.
Mohan Raju, Managing Director of Kalyani Developers, described the new signing as a continuation of that partnership and an opportunity to expand the company's hospitality activities in Bengaluru.
"Our continued partnership with Hilton reflects the strength of its brands and the confidence we have in its long-term vision for Bengaluru," he said.
Kalyani Developers' directors Priyanka M Raju and Rohan M Raju also highlighted the intention to combine a luxury hotel and a full-service property within one destination. The approach is designed to accommodate different guest segments while supporting the city's broader commercial development.
The project comes as India's aviation and hospitality sectors continue to expand, creating additional demand for accommodation near major airports and business districts. Bengaluru's combination of international connectivity, technology industries and corporate travel makes the airport corridor an important location for future hotel investment.
With an opening planned for 2030, the two properties represent a longer-term addition to the city's accommodation infrastructure. Their substantial conference capacity could also strengthen Bengaluru's position in the international MICE market, particularly for events requiring large meeting facilities and multiple accommodation categories within a single complex.
