Vietnam's Phu Quoc island is preparing to welcome a new upscale hotel aimed particularly at South Korean holidaymakers. The AMÉRYS Hotel Phu Quoc is scheduled to open on 1 November 2026, offering 113 guest rooms, family-oriented accommodation and an extensive range of wellness facilities. The property is positioning itself within the growing South Korean market for hotel-centred holidays, where relaxation, comfort and recreational activities within the resort play an important role in travel decisions.
The development reflects Phu Quoc's increasing appeal as an international beach destination. Direct air connections from Seoul and Busan, operated by airlines including Korean Air, VietJet Air, Jeju Air, Jin Air and Eastar Jet, have improved access to the island. For South Korean travellers, Phu Quoc is increasingly being presented as an alternative to established leisure destinations such as Guam, Saipan and Japan, particularly for families seeking resort accommodation at competitive prices.
AMÉRYS has been developed by Les Sens Phu Quoc Hotel Service Joint Stock Company, a subsidiary of KNI Group. Its architecture was designed by Japan's Raymond Architectural Design Office, while Germany-based Private Palace Hotels Group is responsible for hotel management and operations. The combination of Vietnamese investment, Japanese design and European hospitality management forms part of the property's international positioning.
Family accommodation meets Korean travel preferences
The hotel's accommodation concept focuses on multigenerational travel, with room categories ranging from Superior rooms to larger suites designed for families travelling together. Selected rooms feature dedicated children's sleeping areas, while the property's interiors follow a wave-inspired design intended to reflect its coastal location.
This approach responds to two established concepts in South Korean leisure travel. The term ho-kance, combining hotel and vacation, describes holidays in which the hotel itself becomes the principal destination. The related concept of healing places greater emphasis on rest, physical recovery and temporary withdrawal from the pressures of urban life.
AMÉRYS aims to accommodate both preferences through a combination of private beach access, recreational facilities and wellness services. The hotel also offers proximity to several of Phu Quoc's major visitor attractions, including the Hon Thom Cable Car and Sunset Town.
Nearby entertainment venues include the multimedia productions Kiss of the Sea and Symphony of the Sea. This location allows guests to combine resort-based relaxation with excursions and evening entertainment without travelling extensively around the island.
Wellness facilities for different generations
A central element of the hotel concept is the provision of separate facilities for children, adults and older guests. The air-conditioned Azuria Kid Club will offer supervised recreational activities and creative programmes for younger visitors.
Adults will have access to a spa centre featuring treatment rooms, saunas, steam baths and Ganban hot-stone therapy. The wellness programme is intended to appeal to guests seeking relaxation alongside their beach holiday.
An additional facility, Genki House, is being developed around Japanese-inspired wellness practices. According to the hotel, its services will include traditional medicine approaches, physical exercises influenced by martial arts and specialised rehabilitation activities.
"Our greatest advantage is specialized care for every generation," said Karim Klaa, General Manager of AMÉRYS Hotel Phu Quoc. He highlighted the combination of children's activities, spa treatments and wellness programmes for older guests as a defining feature of the property.
The inclusion of facilities aimed at several age groups reflects the growing importance of extended-family holidays in Asian outbound travel markets. Rather than offering a single wellness programme, the hotel intends to provide different activities that family members can use independently during the same stay.
Phu Quoc strengthens its international resort offering
The opening comes as Phu Quoc continues to expand its accommodation and entertainment infrastructure. Located in the Phu Quoc Marina Integrated Resort Complex in Duong Bao, the property will operate within an established tourism development area.
For international tour operators, the hotel adds another accommodation option to an island increasingly promoted for its combination of beaches, resort facilities and organised entertainment. Its particular emphasis on South Korean travellers also illustrates how Vietnamese hospitality developments are adapting their products to the preferences of individual source markets.
Phu Quoc's special entry arrangements provide an additional advantage for international tourism. Eligible foreign visitors arriving directly on the island can benefit from a visa exemption for stays of up to 30 days, subject to the applicable entry conditions.
Ahead of the November opening, AMÉRYS has introduced promotional accommodation packages available through its own booking channels and major travel platforms. The new property will enter a competitive resort market in which family facilities, wellness services and convenient access to local attractions are increasingly important factors in hotel selection.
