Hyatt Hotels Corporation, in partnership with Shenzhen Yuen Kai Hotel Management Co., Ltd., has announced the grand opening of the Mumian Shaoxing Hotel, marking the debut of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt in Shaoxing, China.

Set within the carefully restored former Shaoxing 871 Chip Factory, the hotel offers a bold reinterpretation of cultural hospitality through design, art, and immersive experiences.

A Living Landmark of Industrial Elegance

Designed by Ju Bin and Horizontal Design, the hotel preserves the original factory structure while layering it with greenery, geometric layouts, and curated contemporary art. The 90 guest rooms—ranging from 484 to over 2,200 square feet—surround a serene water courtyard and combine modern aesthetics with local materials and poetic charm. Signature touches include goji-infused Shaoxing wine, craft beers, Dyson amenities, and artistic photo galleries tracing the building’s transformation.

Culinary Experiences Rooted in Place

·         Mumian Shaoxing features three distinct dining venues:

·         Xiaonanyang Restaurant: A street-facing eatery serving reimagined Shaoxing flavors.

·         Xingshan Lobby Bar: A tranquil retreat for afternoon tea and evening cocktails.

·         Zen Pavilion & Orchid Pavilion: Two intimate tea rooms for cultural appreciation and quiet connection.

·         Wellness offerings include a fitness center, yoga studio, and a children's club.

“Story Bloomers” – Cultural Concierges with a Mission

At the heart of the guest experience is the “Story Bloomers” program—dedicated cultural hosts who guide guests through immersive activities like Shexi opera performances, sutra calligraphy, latte art workshops, and the Starlight Overture evening ritual, featuring local music and tastings of Shaoxing wine.

Guests can further explore the region’s heritage aboard a traditional wūpéng boat through the city’s canals, guided by Story Bloomers into the living culture of Jiangnan.
