Hilton and Sun Group expand partnership to transform Vietnam’s hospitality sector

Hilton has signed multiple new property agreements with its long-time partner Sun Group, one of Vietnam’s leading developers in tourism, real estate, and infrastructure. The deal adds five new hotels and nearly 1,800 rooms, introducing Hilton’s Conrad Hotels & Resorts, LXR Hotels & Resorts, and DoubleTree by Hilton brands to new destinations while expanding the company’s flagship Hilton Hotels & Resorts portfolio nationwide.

“Vietnam has long been central to Hilton’s growth story in Southeast Asia,” said Chris Nassetta, President & CEO of Hilton. “This partnership combines Hilton’s global expertise with Sun Group’s local insight to create exceptional destinations that reflect Vietnam’s culture, creativity, and natural beauty.”

Sun Group Chairman Dang Minh Truong added: “By bringing Hilton’s world-class brands to Quang Ninh, Da Nang, and Phu Quoc, we are setting new standards for integrated resorts that unite authenticity, sustainability, and global hospitality excellence.”

The five new properties

LXR Hotels & Resorts Da Nang Riverside – The brand’s debut in Vietnam, offering an 80-room luxury retreat on Đảo Xanh Island along the Han River, blending bespoke design with immersive cultural experiences.

Conrad Phu Quoc, Hilton Phu Quoc, and DoubleTree by Hilton Phu Quoc – A multi-brand complex with 1,500 rooms in total, part of the new hospitality precinct being developed for the APEC 2027 Economic Leaders’ Meeting, positioning Phu Quoc as a premier meetings and leisure destination.

Hilton Quang Hanh Onsen Resort – Opening in late 2025 near Ha Long Bay, featuring 216 rooms and villas, mineral hot springs, saunas, private onsens, and a holistic spa experience.

Doubling Hilton’s footprint in Vietnam

Vietnam is currently Hilton’s third-largest market in Southeast Asia, with 21 operating hotels. With these new signings, the group is set to double its presence by 2027, expanding its development pipeline from 16 to 21 properties.

Alan Watts, President, Asia Pacific, Hilton, commented: “Our deepened partnership with Sun Group underlines the strong confidence investors place in Hilton’s global brands and performance. With a footprint stretching from Quang Ninh to Phu Quoc, Vietnam remains one of our most dynamic growth markets in Asia Pacific.”

All new properties will participate in Hilton Honors, the company’s award-winning loyalty program encompassing its 25 global brands.
