Tourexpi
Located
in the heart of the city’s West End, directly opposite Haymarket Station, the
195-room hotel opens just in time for Edinburgh’s world-renowned summer
festivals, including the Fringe and International Film Festival.
Developed
in partnership with Palm Holdings, a family-owned real estate and hospitality
company, this flagship property brings IHG’s fast-growing midscale conversion
brand, Garner Hotels, to a prime urban location. The brand, launched in 2023,
is expanding rapidly across Europe, offering guests high-quality stays with
comfort and value at their core.
The
new hotel is within walking distance of major attractions such as Edinburgh
Castle, the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC), Murrayfield
Stadium, Edinburgh Zoo, and Princes Street. It offers guests modern amenities
including plush bedding, black-out blinds, parking, 24/7 access to the Garner
Shop for snacks, and grab-and-go breakfast options designed for busy
travellers.
Joanna
Kurowska, Managing Director UK & Ireland at IHG Hotels & Resorts,
commented:
“With
this new opening, we’re excited to see Garner by IHG arrive in Edinburgh,
Scotland’s capital and one of the UK’s most iconic destinations. Garner hotels
are built for comfort, value and simplicity. Edinburgh is the perfect fit.”
Emphasising
a sense of community and local partnership, the hotel has teamed up with
Platform 5, a popular local pub next door, to offer sit-down breakfasts and
exclusive discounts on food and drinks for hotel guests.
Rhys
Worthington, Business Development Manager at Belhaven, Greene King, said:
“Our
collaboration with Palm Holdings brings a unique offer to guests — a true taste
of Scottish hospitality, backed by Greene King’s pub heritage.”
Ricky
Kapoor, Managing Director of Palm Holdings, added:
“We’re
proud to open a hotel that doesn’t just welcome guests but also supports local
jobs, celebrates Scottish culture, and gives back to the community. As part of
our launch, we’re donating £1 per guest stay to Action Against Hunger,
reinforcing our commitment to social impact. That’s what meaningful hospitality
looks like.”
Garner
Hotel Edinburgh – Haymarket joins a global portfolio of 23 open Garner Hotels
and 94 in development. Other European locations include Preston Samlesbury
(UK), Rome Aurelia (Italy), and Istanbul – Airport Arnavutkoy (Türkiye), with
further expansion planned across the DACH region.
