From Hot Springs to Skiing: TUI Expands Hotel Portfolio in China

Located in the Jimei District of Xiamen City, the newly opened TUI Blue Xiamen Seaside Hot Spring features 340 rooms and offers guests a unique hot spring experience. Drawing from deep-sea hot spring water, famously known as the “Beauty Spring,” the facility invites guests to immerse themselves in mineral-rich waters containing calcium, magnesium, iron, and dozens of other trace elements known to support well-being. The hotel is situated just seven kilometres from the white sands of Jimei Beach on China’s southeastern coast.

Chen Aiqin, president of Yongtongchang Group and owner of the hotel, stated:

“Over the past decade, we have dedicated our passion, dreams, wisdom, and hard work to this hotel, creating a sense of pride and a meaningful legacy. As we celebrate this transition to TUI Blue, I truly believe it will become a vibrant symbol of Xiamen's tourism industry. I’m confident that TUI's presence will shine brightly in China's tourism landscape. With our partnership with TUI Blue, we look forward to a promising future together, writing a new chapter and bringing a new era of success to this beautiful land of Xiamen.”

Artur Gerber, Managing Director of TUI Hotels & Resorts, added:

“We are delighted to welcome this hotel to the TUI Blue family, adding a new holiday destination to our portfolio. Thanks to the trust of our partners, we are rapidly expanding our footprint in China. Together we create new holiday experiences for international tourists but of course we also appeal to guests who spend their holidays in their own country.”

TUI is also preparing to launch its first ski resort in China later this year. The TUI Blue Keketuohai Sanbaisuo, located in China’s northwest Altay Region, will join the portfolio in an area known for its dramatic landscapes and the longest snow season in Asia. The adjacent Keketuohai ski area will operate 210 days a year and currently features 23 slopes stretching over 61 kilometres. Future development plans include a total of 80 ski trails reaching 121 kilometres in length.

Just one year ago, TUI opened its first TUI Blue hotel in China. Since then, the group has launched a total of six hotels in the country, including one under its TUI Suneo brand. Continued growth is expected, with additional openings planned in the coming months and years under the group’s popular leisure hotel brands.
