Dusit International is drawing attention to a rare
convergence of Michelin recognition across its hospitality
ecosystem—encompassing hotels, restaurants, and the chefs trained within its
education network. Viewed together, these distinctions signal a long-term
strategy that links guest experience, culinary excellence, and professional
education under a shared philosophy of Thai-inspired gracious hospitality.
Michelin recognition across the hotel portfolio
In 2025, Dusit Thani Bangkok, Dusit Thani Kyoto, and Dusit
Thani Mactan Cebu each received one Michelin Key from the Michelin Guide. The
awards recognise exceptional stays shaped by design integrity, refined service,
and a strong sense of place.
World-class dining within Dusit hotels
Dusit’s culinary credentials were further strengthened
when Cannubi by Umberto Bombana at Dusit Thani Bangkok earned one Michelin
Star—the first Italian restaurant in Thailand to achieve the
distinction—reinforcing the group’s position as a curator of globally
recognised dining experiences.
Alumni impact extends Michelin success beyond the
group
The recognition reaches beyond Dusit-operated hotels
and restaurants to the chefs shaping the wider industry. Dusit Thani College,
regarded as a leading institution in Asia for hospitality and culinary
education, has spent more than three decades building professional foundations
for chefs now active on international stages.
In the latest Michelin selections, AKKEE, owned by
Chef Sittikorn “Au” Chantop, and GOAT Bangkok, owned by Chef Parkorn “Tan”
Kosiyabong—both alumni of Dusit Thani College programmes—retained one Michelin
Star for a second consecutive year. GOAT Bangkok also received a Michelin Green
Star for leadership in sustainable practices. In northeast Thailand, M-O-K and AGAVE,
led by alumni Chef Sirorat “Fay” Thowtho and Chef Nitinan “New” Mangkala in
Ubon Ratchathani, were awarded the Bib Gourmand for quality, value, and
regional identity.
Global recognition from Le Cordon Bleu Dusit graduates
This momentum is echoed at Le Cordon Bleu Dusit –
Culinary Arts School, Bangkok, a collaboration delivering internationally
recognised training across Thai cuisine, classical French techniques, bakery,
pastry, and plant-based gastronomy. Among its graduates, Chef Pichaya “Pam”
Soontornyanakij was named Asia’s Best Female Chef 2024 and The World’s Best
Female Chef 2025, and once again earned a Michelin Star for POTONG, which also
ranked No. 13 on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025. In London, Chef John Chantarasak
received one Michelin Star for AngloThai, noted for its seasonal British
interpretation of Thai flavours.
A long-term approach built on continuity
“Taken collectively, the Michelin Guide recognitions
across our hotels and dining, together with the achievements of chefs who have
passed through our education ecosystem, reflect the strength of an approach
built on care, craft, and continuity,” said Chanin Donavanik, Group CEO of
Dusit International. “They show our belief that Thai-inspired gracious
hospitality extends beyond the guest experience—shaping standards, skills, and
the foundations on which talent can continue to grow across the industry.”
Broadening access to professional culinary education
Alongside Dusit Thani College and Le Cordon Bleu
Dusit, the group’s commitment to talent development is also reflected in The
Food School Bangkok, an industry-aligned school bringing together ALMA – The
School of Italian Culinary Arts, Tsuji Culinary Institute, and Dusit Thani
College. The initiative supports skills development for experienced
professionals as well as entrepreneurs preparing to launch their own
restaurants.
“At a time when the global hospitality sector faces
talent shortages and rising expectations, we are pleased to contribute beyond
our own operations,” Mr Donavanik added. “Supported by Thailand’s strong food
culture and global connectivity, our institutions help equip talent to succeed
across diverse hospitality settings—and we remain committed to seeing that
effort reflected in meaningful outcomes, including recognition on respected
global platforms such as the Michelin Guide.”
