Condor will resume regular flights from Frankfurt to
Tel Aviv starting in May 2026, bringing back a route deeply rooted in the
airline’s history. The restart coincides with Condor’s 70th anniversary and
marks the return of a destination that played a defining role at the very
beginning of German leisure air travel.
Condor’s first-ever flight, on 29 March 1956, was a
pilgrimage journey from Frankfurt to the Holy Land. By reinstating services to
Tel Aviv, the airline is both continuing its own story and strengthening its
route network from its Frankfurt hub.
Strengthening connectivity via Frankfurt
With the renewed service, Condor aims to enhance
connectivity between Europe, North America and the region, offering additional
direct travel options through Frankfurt. The route is positioned as part of the
airline’s broader strategy to expand and reinforce its hub operations.
“Tel Aviv combines tradition and modernity like few
other cities – economically strong, culturally vibrant, and of great
significance in Condor’s history,” said David Carlisle, Vice President Network
Planning & Partnerships at Condor. “Connecting this global city across
Europe and North America via our growing Frankfurt hub is particularly special
to us as we celebrate our 70th anniversary.”
A signal beyond aviation
The new connection has also been welcomed from a
political and cultural perspective. Uwe Becker, Commissioner of the Hessian
State Government for Jewish Life and the Fight against Antisemitism,
highlighted the broader significance of the route. He noted that the flights
would help strengthen relations between Germany and Israel, emphasising that mutual
understanding grows through personal encounters and direct experience.
Aircraft and onboard experience
The Frankfurt–Tel Aviv route will be operated with an
Airbus A320. Passengers can expect Condor’s established onboard comfort,
including ergonomic seating, flexible fare options and a range of optional
extras. Flights are available for booking via www.condor.com, by phone and through travel agencies.
With the relaunch of Tel Aviv, Condor adds a
historically meaningful destination to its network while underscoring its
ambition to connect key cities through Frankfurt during a milestone year for
the airline.
