The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection
Sailing from October 17–24, 2025, this seven-night journey aboard Luminara will take the winning bidder and a guest from Rome to Barcelona, visiting some of the Mediterranean's most glamorous ports, including Livorno, Portofino, Saint-Tropez, and Mallorca. Guests will reside in Luminara's coveted Owner's Suite, featuring expansive indoor-outdoor living, panoramic views, personalized service from a dedicated Suite Ambassador, and access to five restaurants and seven bars, plus premium beverages and a sommelier-led tasting in the Wine Vault, showcasing rare and limited-edition vintages from the yacht's curated collection. Among the indelible culinary moments is a modern Italian tasting menu with wine pairings at Seta su Luminara, the yacht's specialty dining venue by award-winning chef Fabio Trabocchi. Wellness offerings include a choice of rejuvenating treatments at The Ritz-Carlton Spa®, using products from ESPA, 111SKIN, and Pisterzi. Round-trip VIP airport meet-and-greet service along with luxury ground transport in Florence and Saint-Tropez will complete the experience, reflecting The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection's commitment to seamless travel from arrival to departure.
Underscoring The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection's guest-centric approach to hospitality and Sotheby's passion for immersive storytelling, Masterpieces & The Mediterranean will grant behind-the-scenes access to experiences at the intersection of travel and art. A bespoke cultural itinerary, curated in collaboration with Sotheby's, will create unique opportunities to step beyond the velvet rope into private institutions, curator-led tours, and conversations with global tastemakers, immersing guests in intimate moments such as:
Exclusive access to the private residence of the founder of FAMM (Femmes Artistes du Musée de Mougins) in Florence, including a behind-the-scenes tour of a private collection of contemporary and modern works by notable female artists.
A private tour of the FAMM museum in Saint-Tropez, led by Sotheby's Contemporary Art specialists Ottilie Windsor and Tom Eddison alongside museum curators. Home to the Levett Collection, FAMM showcases works by Frida Kahlo, Joan Mitchell, Mary Cassatt, Louise Bourgeois, Nan Goldin, and other visionaries.
A wander through Fondation Maeght, the first independent art foundation in France, with Ottilie and Tom to see the exhibition, 'Barbara Hepworth: Art & Life.'
A celebratory lunch at the iconic La Colombe d'Or in Saint-Paul-de-Vence, where seasonal Provençal cuisine is served in an intimate setting adorned with original works by Picasso, Matisse, and Calder—just as it was for the artists and literary figures who once gathered there.
"The Mediterranean has always been a vibrant crossroads of artistic exchange," says Ottilie Windsor, Co-Head of Contemporary Art, London, "a meeting place where cultures converge, ideas flow freely, and beauty unfolds in myriad forms. This initiative sheds light on that legacy, inviting guests to experience art as a living continuum, shaped by place, memory, and dialogue."
"This iconic partnership with Sotheby's brings our worlds together through immersive cultural programming and the unparalleled experience aboard Luminara," says Gaby Aiguesvives, Chief Marketing Officer of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection. "From private art tours in Florence and Saint-Tropez to unforgettable moments at sea, this extraordinary voyage reflects our passion for creating journeys that connect, inspire, and leave a lasting impression."
"This continued partnership between Luxury Group and Sotheby's, represents the kind of cultural resonance and experiential depth that defines our approach to luxury," says George Hammer, Global Head of Luxury Marketing, Marriott International. "At the Luxury Group, we believe in creating opportunities that go beyond indulgence – offering our guests rare access, meaningful connection, and the kind of storytelling that stays with them long after their journey ends."
The auction will be available online through Sotheby's Sealed, with bidding open from June 20–30, 2025, to coincide with Sotheby's Summer Marquee Sales Exhibition in London, taking place June 18–24. As part of the partnership, The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection will serve as a Presenting Partner of the Fine Art Marquee Auction and co-host a private celebratory brunch at Sotheby's London on June 22, 2025.
The unforgettable voyage reflects the shared vision between The Luxury Group and Sotheby's to offer extraordinary treasures and experiences through the lens of curation, access, and global perspective. Since launching the partnership in September 2024, the two brands have auctioned four bespoke travel experiences, each offering rare access to global destinations and expert insight shaped around the passions of discerning collectors. With Masterpieces & The Mediterranean, the partnership continues to affirm that artfully curated travel can move, inspire, and endure—just like the greatest works of art.
