Sabre Corporation has introduced Cache-powered
Intelligent Shopping, a new AI-enabled solution designed to address
look-to-book constraints in high-volume flight shopping. Powered by
SabreMosaic™, the platform delivers real-time results in under half a second,
with up to 95 per cent alignment to live airline offers, helping agencies
present fares that can actually be booked.
The solution unifies traditional EDIFACT content, NDC,
low-cost carrier offers and agency private content through a single set of
APIs. By combining continuous offer validation with intelligent decisioning
between live polling and cached results, Sabre aims to reduce fragmentation
while controlling operational cost and risk for travel sellers.
Intelligent decisioning between live and cached offers
Unlike approaches that rely solely on live airline
polling or static caches, Cache-powered Intelligent Shopping uses predictive
algorithms from Sabre IQ™ to determine when to query airlines in real time and
when to return validated cached offers. This approach is designed to maintain
accuracy without inflating look-to-book ratios or exposing travellers to
outdated fares.
In measured deployments, agencies using the solution
have recorded reductions in look-to-book ratios of up to 28 per cent, accuracy
levels of up to 95 per cent compared with live polling, and sub-second response
times for traditional flight content.
Garry Wiseman, Chief Product and Technology Officer at
Sabre, said the focus is on scale and reliability: “As agencies grapple with
fragmented air content and rising traffic costs, our goal is to deliver
bookable offers at scale. Cache-powered Intelligent Shopping pairs smart AI
decisioning with continuous offer validation so agencies can reduce
look-to-book ratios, protect against airline penalties and convert more
shoppers without hand-tuning rules or stitching together multiple systems.”
Performance, efficiency and developer productivity
The new platform is designed to simplify air shopping
across multiple dimensions. By providing a single, consistent framework for all
air content sources, it removes the need for separate logic, timeout rules or
failover processes. This standardisation streamlines workflows such as sorting,
ranking and personalisation, reducing development effort and long-term
maintenance costs.
At the same time, the solution is built to maintain
stable performance during periods of high demand or irregular operations.
Intelligent fallback logic helps ensure that agencies continue to receive
relevant offers even when supplier response times fluctuate, supporting
conversion during peak traffic and promotional periods.
Operationally, the platform aims to reduce failed
bookings and re-shopping cycles by minimising discrepancies between displayed
and final offers. This results in cleaner downstream data, higher agent
productivity and lower call-centre volumes, contributing to a more predictable
shopping experience across markets and seasons.
Early customer adoption
As a pilot partner, Wego reports significantly faster
flight search performance, alongside improvements in efficiency and accuracy.
Ross Veitch, CEO and Co-founder of Wego, said: “We
started co-developing with Sabre 24 months ago, anticipating agentic flight
shopping where look-to-book ratios increase asymptotically. Sabre’s
multi-source solution brings GDS, NDC and LCC content into a single data cube,
delivering pre-generated offers at sub-second response times, cost-effectively
at scale.”
Part of SabreMosaic Travel Marketplace
Cache-powered Intelligent Shopping forms part of the
SabreMosaic™ Travel Marketplace, Sabre’s modular platform for multi-source
retailing. The marketplace brings together distribution, intelligence and
agent-friendly APIs to help travel brands modernise shopping experiences,
improve performance and accelerate growth in an increasingly complex air retail
environment.
