Tourexpi
Red
Sea Global (RSG), the developer behind The Red Sea and AMAALA, will begin
welcoming guests to Shura Island this month. Phase one of the launch includes
the opening of SLS, EDITION, and InterContinental resorts, as well as Shura
Links, Saudi Arabia’s first island golf course.
A
vision realized under Vision 2030
“As
the heart of The Red Sea, Shura Island represents everything Red Sea Global
stands for: bold ambition, deep respect for nature, and a commitment to
redefining tourism in Saudi Arabia and beyond,” said John Pagano, Group CEO of
Red Sea Global. “With the soft opening of Shura in the coming weeks, we move
closer to achieving our mission to set new standards in regenerative tourism
while realizing Vision 2030.”
First
wave of world-class resorts
SLS
Red Sea: 150 luxurious rooms and villas, including overwater options, blending
bold design with curated wellness, cultural, and leisure experiences.
The
Red Sea EDITION: 240 rooms and 53 suites, a world-class spa, multiple dining
venues, and access to watersports and golf.
InterContinental
The Red Sea Resort: 178 rooms and 32 suites, five restaurants, a spa, and
coral-inspired design.
In
the coming months, eight additional resorts will follow, including Faena,
Fairmont, Four Seasons, Grand Hyatt, Jumeirah, Miraval, Raffles, and Rosewood.
A
design inspired by coral
Affectionately
known as the “Coral Bloom” project, the masterplan by Foster + Partners is
inspired by surrounding reefs and carefully engineered to minimize
environmental impact. Shura Island, naturally shaped like a dolphin, will
eventually feature 11 resorts, exclusive homes, high-end dining, retail, and
cultural programming. Like the wider Red Sea destination, the island will run
entirely on renewable energy.
Seamless
connections and iconic arrivals
Guests
will arrive by boat into the marina or by electric vehicle across the 3.3 km
Shura Crossing—the Kingdom’s longest internal bridge. Red Sea International
Airport (RSI), already served by domestic and international flights, was
recently added to Qatar Airways’ network, with further connections expected
soon.
Golf
in a coastal paradise
Opening
this September, Shura Links becomes Saudi Arabia’s first island golf course.
Designed with sustainability in mind, the course combines desert landscapes,
ocean views, and innovative water management for an unforgettable playing
experience.
Beyond
luxury: jobs and community impact
Shura
Island is part of RSG’s broader impact, which includes creating 120,000 new
jobs, fostering economic diversification, and setting new benchmarks in
regenerative tourism. The island will also host exclusive residences, with the
first homes ready for handover by late 2025.
