Silversea has unveiled 103 voyages for its 2028-2029
season, expanding its luxury cruise program across the Mediterranean,
Caribbean, South America, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Running from
September 2028 to May 2029, the collection covers 219 destinations in 56
countries and includes 29 ports that are new to the itineraries. General sales
open on October 8, 2026.
Among the most significant additions are new S.A.L.T.
Culinary Voyages built around European truffle season and Asian food markets, a
two-ship winter deployment in the Mediterranean and a 75-night circumnavigation
of South America aboard Silver Nova. Several departures are deliberately timed
around major events, including Carnival in Venice and Rio de Janeiro, New
Year’s Eve celebrations in Funchal and Sydney, Japan’s cherry blossom season
and Lunar New Year in Hong Kong.
The program also increases opportunities to combine
individual cruises into longer journeys. Overnight stays, new turnaround ports
and complementary deployments are intended to give guests more flexibility,
while destination experiences range from an exclusive beach event on Canouan to
reserved access for Rio Carnival.
Mediterranean and culinary focus
Silver Nova and Silver Dawn will operate 17
Mediterranean voyages between October 2028 and March 2029, visiting 53
destinations in 12 countries. New calls include Brindisi and Imperia, while
overnight stays are planned in Cadiz, Funchal, Fusina for Venice, Genoa,
Istanbul, Livorno, Naples and Valletta.
Silver Dawn will remain overnight near Venice during
Carnival, allowing guests to experience the celebrations after dark. Another
itinerary places the ship in Funchal for Madeira’s New Year’s Eve fireworks
before continuing to Casablanca and Tangier. Three sailings will call at
Alexandria, with excursions available to the Great Pyramids and Grand Egyptian
Museum.
Silversea is also expanding its S.A.L.T. culinary
concept. Three Wine & Truffle voyages aboard Silver Dawn will explore Italy
and Spain between October and December, with truffle hunting, vineyard visits,
tastings and chef-led programs. Four Asian Markets voyages aboard Silver Muse
between Singapore and Hong Kong will focus on local markets, hawker stalls and
street food, accompanied by chefs and regional food experts.
Caribbean and South America expand
Four ships – Silver Ray, Silver Nova, Silver Spirit
and Silver Shadow – will operate 38 Caribbean and Central American voyages
between November 2028 and March 2029. The program covers 34 destinations in 21
countries and adds La Romana in the Dominican Republic as a new call.
Canouan in St. Vincent and the Grenadines will host a
dedicated Silversea Destination Experience combining a Carnival-style welcome
with local dancers and steel-band music, followed by a private beach event.
One of the collection’s most ambitious itineraries is
Grand South America 2029. Silver Nova will depart Fort Lauderdale on January
13, 2029, for a 75-night round-trip circumnavigation, returning on March 29.
The voyage includes the Panama Canal, scenic cruising along the Antarctic
Peninsula and overnight stays in Manaus, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Callao
and Cartagena.
Guests will also attend three special events during
the journey. These include a sunset reception in Gustavia on St. Barts,
reserved seating and hospitality at Rio’s Sambadrome during Carnival, and a
private rooftop event overlooking the bay in Cartagena.
More ports across Asia-Pacific
Silver Moon will operate ten voyages in Australia and
New Zealand between October 2028 and March 2029, visiting 42 destinations. New
calls include Batemans Bay and Phillip Island, while Sydney features an
overnight stay for New Year’s Eve.
Across Asia, Silver Moon and Silver Muse will offer 26
voyages between September 2028 and May 2029, covering 62 destinations in 11
countries. Eight ports are being added: Yeosu, Hitachinaka, Miyako-jima, Vigan,
Muara, Sihanoukville, Makassar and Maizuru, the latter providing access to
Kyoto. Kobe and Bali will also become new turnaround ports.
The Asian schedule is designed around seasonal
experiences, including Japan’s cherry blossoms and Lunar New Year in Hong Kong.
Together with the new culinary itineraries and longer combination options, the
program reflects Silversea’s increasing emphasis on timing voyages around
experiences ashore rather than treating ports simply as individual stops.
