The
new Parador, the 98th in the national network, represents a commitment to
socio-economic growth, environmental conservation, and responsible tourism.
The
inauguration ceremony was attended by Emiliano García-Page, President of
Castilla-La Mancha, and Raquel Sánchez, President of Paradores.
A
Boost for Castilla-La Mancha
The
newly opened Parador, situated in a modern building with 24 rooms, gastronomic
spaces, event halls, and a wellness area, is set to invigorate the local
economy, creating around 35 direct jobs. The investment of over €22 million
reflects a broader strategy aimed at transforming the tourism model in the
region. As part of Spain’s Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan, the
province of Guadalajara has benefited from nearly €23 million in tourism
investments, contributing to Castilla-La Mancha's total of €158 million.
Minister
Hereu emphasized the government's commitment to enhancing the tourism model,
highlighting the Parador de Molina de Aragón as a prime example of utilizing
heritage for sustainable and high-quality tourism. The Ministry has been
supporting historical revitalization through the Competitiveness and Heritage
Revitalization Program, investing €208.5 million in 92 projects across 13
regions.
A
Modern Parador with Cultural Heritage
Located
opposite the Molina Castle, one of Spain's largest, the Parador de Molina de
Aragón blends tradition with modernity. Its artistic highlight is a photograph
by Eduardo Nave, complemented by works from other artists, transforming the
interior into a sensory experience.
Paradores:
A Record-Breaking Year
Paradores
concluded 2024 with the highest occupancy rate in two decades, averaging 74%
and hosting 1.5 million stays. The company reported revenues exceeding €346
million and a net profit of €40 million, a 42% increase from the previous year.
In
2025, Paradores continues its expansion with the opening of two new locations:
Molina de Aragón and Ibiza, with a combined investment of €27 million. These
inaugurations are part of a long-term strategy to support quality tourism,
cultural heritage, and natural conservation.
Looking
ahead to the institution’s centennial in 2028, Paradores plans to invest over
€250 million in renovations and heritage restoration, strengthening its role as
a driver of quality tourism and regional integration.
