Emirates
is marking the Kerala harvest festival Onam with curated menus featuring
authentic regional dishes, served across all cabin classes on flights between
Dubai, Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram.

Appetisers
include sharkara upperi (banana roasted in jaggery), kaya varuthathu (crisp
banana chips) and kondattam mulaku (fried sundried chillies with yoghurt),
alongside dips such as kaalan (coconut, yoghurt and yam), cucumber pachadi, and
puli inji (ginger-based chutney). First and Business Class also feature
Kerala-style pappadam and mango pickle.
Main
courses span both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, from alleppey kozhi
curry with chemba rice to vegetarian sadhya with sambar, kootu and matta rice.
First Class guests can also enjoy Kerala-style chicken stew. Desserts include palada
pradhaman (rice pudding with pistachios, raisins and cashews) and parippu
payasam (sweet lentil pudding with coconut flakes). Meals are served on banana
leaf dish liners for an authentic touch.

Beyond
dining, passengers can access more than 6,500 entertainment channels on
Emirates’ ice system, including 2,000 movies, 650 TV shows and 4,000 hours of
music in 40 languages. Indian selections feature 15 Malayalam films, over 170
Indian movies from classics to new releases, TV favourites like Koffee with
Karan, and 48 music albums by Indian artists.
