Tourexpi
The
reimagined 256-room property reclaims its role as a cultural landmark in the
city where the brand was born more than two decades ago.
Design
Rooted in New York
Led
by Rockwell Group, the redesign draws inspiration from Union Square Park and
the building’s Beaux-Arts heritage. The Living Room – W’s signature take on the
hotel lobby – showcases soaring ceilings and ornate details, evolving from a
daytime café into a vibrant cocktail space with curated cultural programming.
Guest
Rooms and Experiences
Rooms
reflect the seasonal colors of Union Square with bold design touches, W’s
signature beds, and modern amenities. The Penthouse Suite offers 1,215 square
feet of panoramic city views. Dining highlights include Seahorse, a new seafood
brasserie by John McDonald and Chef John Villa, blending coastal flavors with
New York flair.
Rooftop,
Wellness, and Events
Union
Square’s only rooftop bar debuts with sweeping skyline views and an
art-inspired atmosphere. A reimagined FIT Studio introduces the brand’s first
in-hotel Peloton space, while meeting rooms overlooking Union Square provide
versatile venues for creative gatherings.
“This
flagship reinvention is about more than design – it’s about breathing new life
into a historic landmark and creating moments that resonate with every guest,”
says Christina Poon, General Manager.
The
relaunch of W New York – Union Square is part of W Hotels’ global evolution,
with 80% of the portfolio set to be transformed by 2028.
