IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management
agreement with Jadeer Group to open a new Hotel Indigo in New Cairo. Scheduled
to welcome guests in 2031, the 120-room property will be part of Red (G), a
mixed-use development featuring residences, retail, and hospitality offerings.
A new landmark in New Cairo
Located on North 90 Street, one of New Cairo’s most
prominent neighbourhoods, the hotel will sit close to the New Administrative
Capital, the American University in Cairo, and emerging business and leisure
hubs. Its design will reflect Hotel Indigo’s signature approach: weaving the
local neighbourhood’s heritage and contemporary spirit into every aspect of the
guest experience, from interiors to dining concepts.
Strengthening IHG’s Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio
“Egypt is a priority market for IHG, and we are
excited to partner with Jadeer Group for a new Hotel Indigo in New Cairo,” said
Haitham Mattar, Managing Director, India, Middle East & Africa, IHG Hotels
& Resorts. “The area is rapidly emerging as a hub for business, education,
and lifestyle, making it an ideal location for a brand that celebrates
uniqueness and thrives in culture- and design-rich neighbourhoods. This signing
underscores our commitment to Cairo’s hospitality sector and to supporting
Egypt’s National Tourism Strategy.”
A milestone for Jadeer Group
For Jadeer Group, the partnership marks an important
step in realizing the vision for the Red (G) project. Mohamed Abo ElKheir, CEO
of Jadeer Group, commented: “The Hotel Indigo brand, renowned for combining
lifestyle and culture, is a perfect fit for New Cairo. We are confident this
hotel will attract both local and international travellers, offering a
hospitality experience that tells the vibrant story of the neighbourhood.”
IHG’s long-term commitment in Egypt
IHG currently operates eight hotels in Egypt under the
InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, and Staybridge Suites brands. With
a pipeline of 22 additional properties, including Egypt’s first Hotel Indigo,
the company is reinforcing its long-term commitment to the country’s tourism
and hospitality sector.
