Germany: Condor adds American Airlines as new North American partner

Condor is expanding its North American connectivity through a new interline partnership with American Airlines. By linking the two carriers’ networks, passengers will gain access to additional destinations across the United States and Canada as well as onward connections from Germany into Europe and beyond.

Condor passengers will be able to connect to American Airlines flights through the German carrier’s North American gateways in Boston, New York JFK, Chicago and Los Angeles. In the opposite direction, American Airlines customers can connect through Frankfurt and Munich to destinations served by Condor.

One ticket for journeys across both networks

The interline agreement is designed to simplify journeys involving flights operated by both airlines. Passengers will be able to book the complete itinerary on a single ticket, check in for the entire journey and have their baggage checked through to the final destination.

“With American Airlines, we are welcoming a strong partner whose network perfectly complements our own and significantly enhances our connectivity across North America,” said David Carlisle, Vice President Network Planning & Partnerships at Condor. He added that the agreement strengthens Condor’s position in the transatlantic market while increasing the number of travel options available to passengers.

“Combining our extensive North American network with Condor’s presence in Germany and Europe creates a winning proposition for our mutual customers,” said Jeff Ogar, American Airlines’ Managing Director of Alliances.

Chicago becomes an important connecting point

The partnership will gain additional significance when Condor resumes flights between Frankfurt and Chicago in summer 2027. Chicago O’Hare is one of American Airlines’ largest hubs and offers onward connections to numerous destinations in the United States and Canada.

Together with Boston, New York JFK and Los Angeles, Chicago will therefore form one of four principal North American gateways through which Condor passengers can connect to the American Airlines network.

The arrangement also works in the opposite direction. Passengers arriving on American Airlines flights in Frankfurt or Munich will have access to Condor’s European and international network.

Condor continues to expand partner network

The American Airlines agreement is the latest step in Condor’s strategy of extending its international reach through airline partnerships. In North America, the German carrier has already worked with Alaska Airlines for more than a decade.

Condor recently also announced a partnership with Qantas, providing additional connections in Australia and New Zealand. The agreements allow the airline to offer destinations beyond its own flight network without operating the connecting sectors itself.

Bookings for itineraries combining Condor and American Airlines flights are expected to become available shortly through Condor, travel agencies and other distribution partners.
