Emirates is introducing a range of dedicated services
and amenities to honour Ramadan, reflecting the traditions and practices
observed by fasting passengers. Throughout the Holy Month, the airline will
provide iftar boxes, offer prayer facilities and expand religious programming
across its network.
Iftar Boxes at Boarding Gates
At select boarding gates, Emirates will distribute
complimentary iftar boxes at sunset. The boxes include water, laban, dates and
fruit, allowing fasting customers to break their fast comfortably before
departure.
Ramadan Meal Boxes Onboard
Passengers breaking their fast inflight will receive
specially designed Ramadan meal boxes across all cabin classes on selected
routes. The meals include traditional items such as dates, Arabic bread with
dips, savoury sandwiches, sweets and laban. These boxes are served alongside
the airline’s standard hot meal service.
To ensure precise fasting schedules, Emirates uses a
dedicated system to calculate imsak and iftar timings based on the aircraft’s
position. Passengers are informed of the official iftar time by the captain.
Complimentary prayer mats are also available onboard
upon request.
Ramadan Dining in Emirates Lounges
In Emirates’ seven Dubai lounges, customers can enjoy
a selection of traditional Ramadan dishes. Offerings include Arabic mezze,
soups, mixed grills and regional specialties, followed by classic desserts and
beverages. Lounges in Cairo and Jeddah will likewise present seasonal menus.
Dedicated prayer rooms and ablution facilities remain
available across lounge locations.
Religious Content on ice
During Ramadan, Emirates’ inflight entertainment
system, ice, will feature expanded religious programming in Arabic and Urdu.
The Holy Qur’an is available alongside a selection of series, dramas, music and
podcasts in multiple languages.
Seasonal Bukhoor Collection
Emirates has also launched a Ramadan-themed Bukhoor
fragrance range. The collection includes Oud Rose, Dreamy Nights and Sacred
Ember, presented in decorative packaging designed for seasonal gifting.
Support for Umrah Travellers
For customers travelling to Jeddah and Medina,
Emirates will serve Ramadan meal boxes inflight. Passengers are also permitted
to check in one bottle of Zamzam water of up to five litres per person at
designated airports.
Staff Training During Ramadan
To align service delivery with cultural practices,
Emirates provides Ramadan awareness training for cabin crew and ground staff.
The programme focuses on operational sensitivity, customer expectations and
religious observances.
With these initiatives, Emirates aims to integrate
Ramadan traditions into the travel experience while maintaining its standard
service framework.
