Agoda matches Asian hidden gems with the twelve zodiac signs - Get updated on what's happening in tourism!

Adventure for Aries, indulgence for Taurus

Aries travellers are directed towards Niseko in Japan, where skiing and snowboarding provide the action Agoda associates with the sign’s adventurous character. Taurus, meanwhile, is matched with Pondicherry in India, combining French architectural influences, beaches, art and culture in a more leisurely setting.

For Gemini, Agoda recommends Kaohsiung in Taiwan. Its arts scene, night markets and programme of local and international music are presented as a match for travellers attracted by variety and social interaction.

Cancer is paired with Kochi in southern India. Here, history, a more tranquil atmosphere and the city’s cultural heritage provide the setting for a slower-paced escape.

From Da Nang nightlife to Kanazawa traditions

Vietnam’s Da Nang represents Leo in the guide, combining beaches, nightlife, outdoor experiences and a diverse food scene. The destination is intended for travellers looking for a livelier combination of relaxation and entertainment.

Virgo is assigned Kanazawa in Japan. Preserved districts dating from the Edo period, carefully maintained gardens and traditional culture make the city one of the more historically focused choices in Agoda’s selection.

For Libra, the journey leads to Chiang Rai in northern Thailand. Its temples and mountainous landscapes are associated with the sign’s traditional themes of beauty, harmony and balance.

Ancient Korea and the mountains of Thailand

Scorpio is matched with Gyeongju in South Korea, where archaeological remains and centuries of Korean history offer considerably more to explore than a conventional city break. The former capital of the Silla kingdom is presented as a destination for travellers drawn to history and discovery.

Sagittarius heads for Pai in northern Thailand. Surrounded by mountains, the small town combines outdoor activities with the relaxed and bohemian atmosphere that has made it a popular stop for independent travellers.

Taichung in Taiwan is Agoda’s choice for Capricorn, with the combination of urban life and nearby natural landscapes providing the contrast behind the pairing.

Technology for Aquarius, dream landscapes for Pisces

Aquarius is sent to Daejeon in South Korea. Known as an important centre for science, technology and higher education, the city represents the more innovative and intellectual end of Agoda’s astrological journey through Asia.

The final destination is Ninh Binh in Vietnam for Pisces. Rivers winding between towering limestone karsts create one of the most atmospheric landscapes on the list and provide a quieter conclusion to the twelve-sign journey.
