Chinese automotive manufacturer JETOUR is expanding its Travel+ strategy, bringing together intelligent mobility, outdoor recreation and tourism-related services. The company presented its latest technologies and travel concepts during the 2026 JETOUR Global Technology Experience Day, held from October 20 to 23 in Wuhu, Anhui Province, and Moganshan in Zhejiang Province.
The event focused on the changing role of vehicles in leisure travel. Rather than serving solely as transportation, cars are increasingly being designed to support outdoor activities, independent exploration and extended journeys. JETOUR aims to address this development through a combination of off-road technology, connected vehicle systems and equipment intended for camping and recreational travel.
Participants experienced the company's latest vehicle technologies during mountain-road test drives and outdoor activities. The programme also included a camping market, discussions about future mobility and a conservation initiative in Zhejiang. Together, these activities illustrated how JETOUR intends to extend its automotive business into a broader ecosystem of travel experiences.
Intelligent Technology for Outdoor Travel
A central element of JETOUR's strategy is the development of vehicles capable of operating across different environments, from urban roads to more challenging terrain.
The company's XWD Fully Automatic Intelligent Four-Wheel Drive system offers seven predefined driving modes alongside additional settings designed for varying conditions. These include mountain roads, gravel surfaces and water crossings.
JETOUR is also developing its GAIA All-Terrain Intelligent Architecture, which is intended to adapt vehicle performance to different landscapes. Its C-DM hybrid technology combines conventional and electric propulsion, with the aim of balancing driving performance and energy efficiency.
During the October 21 test drives in Moganshan, participants had an opportunity to experience some of these systems on mountain roads.
The manufacturer is drawing on wider technological developments within its automotive group, including artificial intelligence, intelligent driving systems, connected vehicle cabins and AiMOGA robotics. The objective is to make advanced vehicle technology relevant to everyday journeys as well as recreational travel.
Vehicles Designed for Camping and Exploration
JETOUR's expanding product range reflects different approaches to independent travel.
The G700 is positioned as a vehicle combining comfort with more demanding off-road capabilities. The T1 and T2 models are designed to accommodate both everyday urban use and recreational driving beyond conventional roads.
Alongside the vehicles themselves, the company is developing accessories intended to support outdoor activities. These include rooftop tents, onboard refrigerators and other equipment that allows travellers to use their vehicles as temporary living spaces.
Such features reflect a wider interest in flexible travel arrangements, particularly journeys in which accommodation, transportation and outdoor recreation are closely connected.
JETOUR demonstrated this concept through a camping market and its Starry Night Forum, where vehicle features were presented in the context of outdoor living.
For the tourism sector, the strategy illustrates how automotive manufacturers are increasingly positioning themselves within the broader travel economy. Vehicle-based recreation creates opportunities extending beyond car sales, including camping equipment, outdoor services and travel-related partnerships.
Conservation and Community Partnerships
JETOUR is also incorporating environmental and community initiatives into its Travel+ activities.
During the technology event, participants visited Xiazhu Lake in Zhejiang Province to learn about conservation efforts involving the crested ibis, a bird species associated with wildlife protection programmes in China.
The company supports additional conservation activities in several international markets. These include cheetah protection in Africa, turtle conservation in Malaysia, harpy eagle conservation in Panama and initiatives involving the markhor, Pakistan's national animal.
JETOUR has also established partnerships with sporting organisations and events, including Chilean football club Colo-Colo, the International Basketball Federation FIBA and the Malaysia Marathon.
These activities extend the company's presence beyond vehicle technology into sport, environmental protection and local community engagement.
The Travel+ strategy consequently represents more than the introduction of new automotive features. It reflects an effort to connect vehicle ownership with outdoor experiences, cultural activities and recreational travel.
For tourism businesses, the development highlights the growing overlap between mobility technology and independent travel. As manufacturers integrate camping equipment, intelligent driving systems and outdoor-oriented services into their products, vehicles are increasingly being positioned as part of the travel experience itself rather than simply a means of reaching a destination.
