Accor, a world leading hospitality group, today announces
the signing of an agreement with WinInvest LLC to open a new Mercure hotel in
Armenia. Located in Tsaghkadzor, Armenia’s most popular ski and resort town,
the 4-star Mercure Tsaghkadzor is expected to open in early 2027 and will
embody the brand's “Locally inspired” philosophy with elegant interiors
inspired by the history and cultural heritage of Armenia.
Since its founding in 1973, Mercure has been dedicated to
unveiling the treasures surrounding each address, creating a truly local
experience for guests. Through its “Discover Local” programme, Mercure ensures
that guests are instantly immersed in a locally inspired atmosphere. Every
detail, from the decorative arts to local food and beverage delights, is
curated to reflect the unique essence of the destination. The brand has recently
achieved a historic milestone by surpassing 1,000 hotels worldwide.
Alexis Delaroff, Chief Operating Officer of Accor New
East Europe, commented: “This latest signing marks an important step in our
continued expansion in Armenia, a country that has huge potential thanks to its
rich cultural and natural landscape. Mercure Tsaghkadzor will be the perfect
addition to our portfolio and will attract guests who will be able to
experience the destination like a local.”
Tsaghkadzor is rapidly emerging as a year-round
destination, attracting travellers from around the world, with new
infrastructure, modern hotels, and enhanced transport accessibility, all
contributing to its growing appeal. In winter, Tsaghkadzor is a favoured spot
for skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts. During the summer months, it offers
relaxing settings amidst the picturesque views of the Caucasus Mountains.
Mercure Tsaghkadzor will be located close to unique architectural and cultural
landmarks, such as the Kecharis Monastery complex and the Orbeli brothers’
house-museum, dedicated to the renowned scientists.
Hovhannes Cholakhyan, Founder of WinInvest LLC, added: “Mercure
Tsaghkadzor will significantly contribute to the development of Tsaghkadzor
tourism infrastructure. The new hotel will elevate the travel experience by
offering guests as well as locals the authentic spirit of the Armenian
hospitality and the highest comfort of a well-recognised international brand.
We are confident that the construction and operation of the new hotel will play
a key role in attracting new investments and will have a positive impact on
tourism industry and economic growth of Armenia.”
The new hotel will offer 69 modern and comfortable rooms,
including 10 villas. Mercure Tsaghkadzor will feature a wide range of amenities
such as a modern spa and wellness area, swimming pool, sauna and hammam, as
well three restaurants and a kids’ area. In addition, several conference rooms
will be available at the hotel for corporate and private events.
Mercure Hotels & Resorts offers 1,000 hotels in 65+
countries with over 200 additional hotels under development. Mercure boasts the
largest development pipeline in Accor’s portfolio, continuing to deliver
high-quality standards infused with a deep sense of locality. Mercure is a
