Eurowings
has appointed digital and sales expert Irina Haselmann as Managing Director of
the new tour operator Eurowings Holidays GmbH. With this decision, Germany's
largest leisure airline is emphasizing its ambition to grow in the area of
tourism and strengthen the position of its leisure brand Eurowings Holidays,
which will operate as a separate tour operator as of 1 April 2025.
Irina
Haselmann has been part of the Eurowings team since 2018. She has made a
significant contribution to the airline's commercial success in the area of
digital and sales. She has been Head of Digital Marketing & Sales since
2021 and has been instrumental in driving revenue growth through digital
platforms as well as the development of Eurowings Holidays.
With
more than 15 years of experience in the tourism industry, Irina Haselmann
brings in-depth expertise from various key positions. She was previously
responsible for product management, pricing, marketing and sales of
international tour operator brands at the DER Touristik/Dertour travel
group.
“This
extensive tourism and digital expertise makes Irina Haselmann the ideal person
to drive our tourism growth,” says Eurowings' Head of Sales Michael Erfert, who
is also responsible for the development and expansion of the new tour operator.
“Irina has been instrumental in shaping the successful development of Eurowings
Holidays in recent years and has passionately driven it forward together with
her team. With our own management, we are now taking the next step and
strengthening our entrepreneurial responsibility for the growth of Eurowings
Holidays.”
The
new management team around Irina Haselmann combines many years of tourism and
TravelTech expertise from Binoli GmbH – which was acquired from Baden-Baden –
with the marketing and data know-how of Eurowings Digital GmbH, based in
Cologne's Schanzenstraße start-up district. In addition to Irina Haselmann as
Managing Director, the management team includes Sven Ickstadt (Chief Operations
Officer), who is responsible for the Touristic Operations area. Ickstadt has
been working in tourism since 1996 and can draw on a broad network from 25
years in management positions at LTUR and Binoli in hotel and flight purchasing
as well as product management. He was also Managing Director of Binoli GmbH for
many years.
Sebastian
Jüngst is taking on the role of Head of IT. He has been working in the IT
sector for 18 years and was responsible for tourism IT at Air Berlin Holidays
and the HLX brands from 2015 onwards. The management of the Sales &
Marketing division and the newly created Data & BI team will be filled from
the ranks of Eurowings Digital: Carolin Stauss will be responsible for the
sales and marketing division as Head of Sales & Marketing, while Ilias
Bratkos will manage the data-driven business decisions of Eurowings Holidays as
Head of Data & BI.
With
the launch of Eurowings Holidays GmbH on 1 April 2025, Eurowings is expanding
its portfolio in the area of tourism and will now offer customers tailor-made
vacations. In order to be able to draw on proven expertise immediately,
Eurowings Holidays has taken over the staff and IT systems of the renowned
media and tourism entrepreneur Karlheinz Kögel in Baden-Baden.
