Russia, Germany and the UK top the list of source
markets, ministry data shows.
Türkiye recorded 47.25 million foreign arrivals
between January and October 2025, according to figures released by the Ministry
of Culture and Tourism on Friday. The total marks a 0.1% decline compared to
the same period last year, indicating stable demand in a year shaped by strong
regional competition and shifting travel patterns.
Istanbul and Antalya Remain Dominant Gateways
Istanbul consolidated its position as Türkiye’s
leading international entry point. The city attracted 16.01 million visitors,
accounting for 33.9% of all foreign arrivals in the first 10 months of the
year.
Antalya followed closely with a 32.5% share,
continuing its role as the country’s key Mediterranean resort destination. The
border province of Edirne, which draws significant cross-border traffic from
Bulgaria and Greece, ranked third.
Russia Leads Source Markets
In terms of nationalities, Russia remained Türkiye’s
largest inbound market with a 13.5% share from January to October. Germany and
the UK followed as the next-largest source markets.
Strong October Performance
October alone saw 5.68 million foreign visitors,
representing a 4.3% year-on-year increase, underlining continued momentum in
the final quarter of the year.
