Eurowings is expanding its Premium BIZ Seat concept
across its entire Airbus A320neo fleet for the 2026/27 winter schedule.
Following a trial on the Berlin-Dubai route, the airline plans to convert all
A320neo aircraft in November, with the new seating available on selected routes
from 1 December 2026.
The rollout coincides with Eurowings' return to Dubai
and extends the premium product to leisure and city routes from Berlin,
Dusseldorf, Cologne/Bonn and Stuttgart. Passengers will be able to book the
seats on services to Mallorca, Málaga and London Heathrow, while every
Eurowings flight to Dubai will offer the new cabin configuration.
Eight premium seats replace 18 conventional seats
The most visible change is at the front of the A320neo
cabin. Eurowings is replacing the conventional 2x3 configuration in the first
two rows with eight seats arranged in a 2x2 layout. The space previously
occupied by 18 seats will therefore accommodate only eight passengers.
The airline has selected the Comoda seat from Italian
manufacturer Geven. It offers greater recline, a wider seat, additional
legroom, an adjustable leg rest and USB charging ports.
Passengers using the Premium BIZ Seat receive
catering, a welcome drink, refresh towel and nuts. On Dubai services, the
package also includes a pillow and blanket, an amenity kit and meals served on
porcelain.
“Comfort and relaxation in the air should never be
taken for granted – and we’re making them the new standard for business
travelers and leisure guests,” says Max Kownatzki, CEO of Eurowings. “While
other airlines are adding more and more seats to their aircraft, we’re giving
our guests more of what makes flying easier: Space, privacy and an experience
that feels genuinely special.”
Mallorca and Málaga join the premium network
The new product will also appear on some of Eurowings'
most important leisure routes. Mallorca will be served with the Premium BIZ
Seat on daily flights from Dusseldorf and up to four weekly services from
Berlin.
Dusseldorf-Málaga will offer the product on four
flights per week. On both Spanish routes, the Premium BIZ Seat is included in
BIZclass fares starting at €199.99.
London Heathrow is another major part of the rollout.
From Dusseldorf, the new seating will be offered on at least one daily service
within a schedule of up to 28 weekly flights. All weekly Berlin-London services
are also due to feature the premium product.
London fares start at €119.99, with the Premium BIZ
Seat available as an upgrade from an additional €60.
Dubai returns to the winter schedule
Eurowings is also resuming direct services to Dubai
for the 2026/27 winter season. From 1 December, every Eurowings flight to the
Gulf destination is scheduled to offer the Premium BIZ Seat.
Berlin will have daily Dubai flights, while Stuttgart
will be connected four times a week and Cologne/Bonn three times weekly. Fares
to Dubai start at €289.99, with the Premium BIZ Seat available from an
additional €300.
The Dubai routes also represent the longer end of the
product's intended market, extending a premium seating concept developed for
European short-haul flying to medium-haul services.
Passenger feedback prompted fleet-wide rollout
Eurowings began testing the new seating concept on the
Berlin-Dubai route in November 2025. According to the airline, passengers
responded particularly positively to the additional personal space and more
individual service.
The results prompted management to approve
installation across the entire A320neo fleet. Conversion work is scheduled for
November 2026 so that aircraft equipped with the new cabin can enter regular
service from 1 December.
The Premium BIZ Seat is already available for booking
through the airline's regular sales channels, either as an optional upgrade or
as part of the BIZclass fare, depending on the route.
