Shanghai Disney Resort is preparing a packed autumn
programme stretching from September into early November 2026. Duffy Month opens
the season from 1 to 30 September, followed by Halloween from 4 October to 1
November, while China’s Mid-Autumn Festival and Golden Week add further holiday
traffic to the period.
The programme forms part of the resort’s 10th birthday
year and combines new shows, character experiences, seasonal food and
merchandise with Chinese and Shanghai cultural elements. LinaBell, who made her
global debut in Shanghai in 2021, will also receive a week-long celebration
marking her fifth anniversary.
Duffy Month brings new shows and Chinese influences
Duffy Month introduces a collaboration with Shanghai
Animation Film Studio, including the first Duffy and Friends animated short
film. Decorations and character costumes incorporate Chinese motifs such as
peaches, gourds, lotus flowers, goldfish and swallows.
A new castle-stage production, “A Voyage with Duffy
and Friends”, follows the seven characters on a journey to return a mysterious
crystal. Shanghai Huju Opera also returns on weekends from 5 September, marking
the third consecutive year that the traditional local art form has been
incorporated into Duffy Month.
Special Pajama Party Nights are scheduled for 19–20
and 26–29 September, combining character performances with a castle projection
show and fireworks.
LinaBell marks five years in Shanghai
From 23 to 29 September, the resort will celebrate the
fifth anniversary of LinaBell. The fox character debuted at Shanghai Disney
Resort on 29 September 2021 and will make special appearances with Duffy and
Friends during the anniversary week.
Seasonal food and merchandise will accompany the
celebrations. Among the new products is a Duffy and Friends collection
featuring Chinese-inspired designs and a teacup produced with artisans from
Jingdezhen, traditionally associated with Chinese porcelain.
Halloween expands to ten special event days
Halloween runs from 4 October to 1 November with
expanded entertainment. Disney Villains return alongside Donald’s Halloween
Treat Cavalcade, while Peg-Leg Pete joins the seasonal character lineup for the
first time. Mickey and Friends will appear in steampunk-inspired costumes, with
Duffy and Friends presented as a bard troupe.
The resort is also expanding its Spook-tacular Days to
ten dates: 16–18 October, 23–25 October and 29 October–1 November. Five Party
Zones, character encounters, trick-or-treat activities and the Disney Villains
Castle Celebration are among the scheduled attractions.
Golden Week joins the anniversary programme
China’s Golden Week will overlap with the resort’s
autumn celebrations. From 1 to 3 October, visitors can see a special castle
projection and fireworks following the regular “ILLUMINATE! A Nighttime
Celebration” show.
With Duffy Month, LinaBell’s anniversary and an
extended Halloween season following in quick succession, Shanghai Disney Resort
is using autumn as one of the focal periods of its 10th birthday year.
