Orlando is turning Halloween into a three-month
tourism season. In 2026, the Florida destination will stage 94 consecutive days
of Halloween-related events from August 7 to November 8, its longest programme
to date.
The calendar ranges from major theme park productions
and haunted attractions to family events, concerts, theatre and one of the
largest horror conventions in the United States. The extended season also gives
visitors considerable flexibility, with different experiences aimed at
families, horror fans and adult audiences.
Theme parks anchor the Halloween season
Walt Disney World brings back Mickey’s Not-So-Scary
Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom on selected nights through October 31,
featuring trick-or-treating, character appearances, the Boo-to-You Parade and a
new masquerade dance party hosted by Stitch.
Universal Studios Florida celebrates the 35th year of
Halloween Horror Nights from August 28 to November 1. This year’s programme
includes new haunted houses such as “Jack & Oddfellow: Chaos & Control”
and “Ozzy Osbourne: Prince of Darkness.”
SeaWorld Orlando offers both family and adult formats.
Spooktacular runs on selected dates from August 29 to November 2, while
Howl-O-Scream brings haunted houses, scare zones and night rides from September
11 to October 31. LEGOLAND Florida Resort expands Brick-or-Treat to 18 event
days between September 5 and October 31.
“In Orlando, Halloween isn't just a single day; it
comes to life for an entire season,” said Casandra Matej, President and CEO of
Visit Orlando. “For more than three months, visitors can find everything from
family friendly trick-or-treat trails and festive fall fun to heart-pounding
haunted houses.”
Halloween spreads beyond the parks
The programme reaches well beyond Orlando’s major
theme parks. Gatorland stages Gators, Ghosts & Goblins on three October
weekends, while Boggy Creek Airboat Adventures combines night-time airboat
rides with haunted attractions.
Spooky Empire returns to Hyatt Regency Orlando from
October 30 to November 1, bringing celebrity guests, film programming, vendors,
tattoo artists and horror fans together for one of the country’s largest
conventions of its kind.
Other attractions include Halloween events at Villatel
Resort Orlando and Crayola Experience as well as the haunted trails of A
Petrified Forest.
Theatre, music and adults-only events add variety
Orlando’s performing arts scene is also joining the
season. The Dr. Phillips Center hosts productions ranging from “Music for the
Macabre” to “Evil Dead The Musical” and a live-score performance of the 1922
silent film “Nosferatu” on October 31.
Orlando Shakes stages “Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors”
from September 23 through November 8, effectively bringing the destination’s
extended Halloween calendar to a close.
Adults can also choose from after-dark events at
Orlando Science Center, Halloween nightlife and a city bar crawl. With
activities stretching from early August into November, Orlando is increasingly
treating Halloween not as a single holiday but as a full tourism season.
