Hilton has been named the No. 1 Best Workplace in
Latin America by Great Place to Work, while rapid hotel expansion is creating
thousands of new career opportunities across Latin America and the Caribbean.
The group now employs more than 26,000 team members in 35 countries and
operates over 300 hotels in the region.
Since 2021, Hilton’s regional workforce has grown by
nearly 60 percent. Over the past three years, the company has hired an average
of more than 11,000 people annually into its system.
More than 150 hotels in the pipeline
Further growth is already planned. Hilton’s
development pipeline across Latin America and the Caribbean comprises more than
150 hotels with around 21,000 rooms, creating additional demand for hospitality
professionals.
“This recognition is an incredibly proud moment for
Hilton in Latin America, and one that has been years in the making,” said
Ayesha Williams, Vice President of Human Resources, Caribbean and Latin America
at Hilton. “Their passion, care and commitment are what make Hilton a place
where people feel valued, included and empowered to grow.”
Hilton also ranked as the No. 1 Best Workplace this
year in Argentina, Colombia, Panama, Peru and Uruguay.
Career development supports regional growth
The hotel group is combining recruitment with internal
training and career development. Programmes include Hilton University,
leadership training, cross-training and the regional Fun & Growth
initiative, which allows employees to gain experience at other Hilton
properties.
According to Hilton’s internal survey data, 85 percent
of employees in Latin America believe they can achieve their career goals with
the company, while 88 percent say they have opportunities to continue learning
and developing. Some 93 percent describe Hilton as a great place to work and 94
percent say they are proud to work there.
Globally, nearly two-thirds of corporate and hotel
leadership positions at Hilton have been filled by internal candidates.
Expansion creates new hospitality careers
The company is also working with organisations
including the International Youth Foundation through the Hilton Global
Foundation to provide young people with training, skills and access to career
opportunities.
With more than 300 hotels already operating and
another 150-plus properties in development, Hilton sees Latin America and the
Caribbean as both an important growth market and a major source of new
hospitality careers.
