Holland America Line is seeing a marked increase in
demand for its European cruise programme. Bookings for the 2026 season are up
by more than one third compared with the same period last year, with
particularly strong momentum in Northern Europe.
Northern Europe leads growth
The most significant gains are being recorded on
Northern Europe routes, where bookings have risen by nearly 50 percent year on
year. Travellers are drawn to the region’s striking natural scenery and
compact, easy-to-navigate cities. Departures from Rotterdam and Dover provide
convenient access to a wide range of culturally rich ports and iconic
landscapes.
Guests can choose from a broad selection of
itineraries, including numerous sailings aboard the cruise line’s flagship, Rotterdam.
Early booking recommended
“Given the strong pace of bookings we're seeing and
our ‘Start Your Journey’ Wave promotion underway, I'd recommend anyone
considering a summer European cruise book soon,” said Dan Rough, Vice President
of Revenue Management at Holland America Line. “With our Dutch roots and
unmatched expertise in the region, guests know they're travelling with the
European cruise experts when they choose Holland America. These voyages will
sell out, and at the pace we’re seeing this year, now is a good time to secure
an ideal cruise.”
What guests can expect in 2026
Holland America Line’s 2026 Europe season builds on
the brand’s long-standing presence in the region, offering itineraries designed
for deeper exploration. Cruises feature longer port stays and more overnight
calls, allowing guests time for evening dining ashore, cultural events and
local nightlife across the Mediterranean and Northern Europe.
The programme spans more than 35 countries and
includes visits to over 175 UNESCO World Heritage sites. Alongside major
destinations such as Barcelona, Naples and Dubrovnik, itineraries also call at
smaller, lesser-visited ports including Portofino, St. Tropez and Valletta. On
board, the culinary experience reflects the regions visited, with menus
inspired by Mediterranean, Northern European and British Isles cuisines,
complemented by regional wines and fresh seafood developed by the line’s
Culinary Ambassadors.
FIFA World Cup coverage on board
Guests sailing in Europe during summer 2026 will also
be able to follow every match of the FIFA World Cup 26™ while at sea. From June
11 to July 19, all 104 matches will be broadcast across the fleet via Sport 24
Special Event Channels in staterooms, with selected games shown on the Lido big
screen or in World Stage theatres.
Cruises open for booking
A range of European cruises for 2026 is now available
for booking. For a limited period, guests reserving with the “Have It All”
package can secure selected itineraries with a reduced deposit and a
complimentary balcony upgrade. The programme includes longer voyages through
the British Isles, the Mediterranean and the Norwegian fjords, as well as
themed sailings in partnership with HISTORY Channel, with departures scheduled
from late spring through autumn 2026.
Further information on itineraries, shore excursions
and reservations is available via travel advisors, by calling 1-877-SAIL HAL,
or at hollandamerica.com.
