Lufthansa has announced the early release of Allegris
Business Class seats on its Boeing 787-9 fleet. Following recent progress in
the partial certification process, the airline is making the new cabin product
available for booking sooner than previously planned. Flights departing from
March 29, coinciding with the start of the summer flight schedule, will now
offer broader seat availability.
Earlier approval accelerates seat release
According to Lufthansa, 25 of the 28 Allegris Business
Class seats can now be booked. Only three seats in the second row remain
temporarily excluded pending final approval. The Lufthansa Group had initially
communicated mid-April as the start of unrestricted bookings, but certification
developments have enabled an earlier rollout.
The timing aligns with increased travel demand ahead
of the Easter holiday period. Lufthansa expects at least ten Dreamliners to be
operating from Frankfurt by the start of the summer schedule. With 25 Allegris
seats per aircraft available for booking, the airline estimates that more than
200 additional Business Class seats will enter the market daily.
Network expansion with Allegris-equipped Dreamliners
At the launch of the summer flight schedule,
Lufthansa’s Boeing 787-9 aircraft featuring Allegris will serve Austin, Rio de
Janeiro, Bogotá, Cape Town, Shanghai, Hyderabad, and Hong Kong from Frankfurt.
Additional long-haul destinations will follow in subsequent months, including
New York JFK and Los Angeles from June, and Delhi from July.
Lufthansa noted that Dreamliner services to Toronto,
Montréal, Lagos, and Malabo will initially operate with a mixed configuration,
with some flights offering Allegris cabins while others continue with the
previous Business Class product.
Dreamliner fleet growth supports product rollout
Lufthansa introduced Allegris on the Boeing 787-9 from
Frankfurt in October 2025. Since then, nine newly delivered aircraft have
entered service at the Frankfurt hub. The airline has placed orders for an
additional 20 Dreamliners and plans to operate a total of 29 Boeing 787-9
aircraft by the end of 2027.
The Allegris cabin concept represents Lufthansa’s
latest long-haul product upgrade, designed to enhance passenger comfort,
privacy, and flexibility across multiple travel segments.
