Ryanair is significantly expanding its Moroccan
network for the winter 2026 season. The airline plans to offer 5.3 million
seats on 156 routes connecting Morocco with 14 countries, making it its largest
winter programme in the country to date.
The schedule includes 17 new routes and coincides with
the opening of Ryanair’s fifth Moroccan base in Rabat. Two additional aircraft
will be stationed there, representing an investment of around US$200 million.
Across Morocco, Ryanair will operate from 13 airports.
580,000 additional seats for winter 2026
Capacity will increase by around 580,000 seats
compared with the previous winter, equivalent to growth of 12 percent. Among
the new connections are flights from Rabat to Stockholm and Krakow, from
Marrakesh to Wroclaw and from Agadir to Milan, Nuremberg, Bratislava and
Gdansk.
The network extends beyond Morocco’s principal tourism
centres. Ryanair will also serve destinations including Fez, Tetouan,
Essaouira, Ouarzazate, Dakhla and Nador, strengthening international
connections for different regions of the country.
The airline expects the expanded programme to
stimulate both inbound tourism and year-round demand from the Moroccan market.
Rabat becomes Ryanair’s fifth Moroccan base
With the two new aircraft in Rabat, Ryanair will have
16 aircraft based in Morocco. The airline values its total aircraft investment
in the country at US$1.6 billion.
According to Ryanair, its Moroccan operations support
more than 8,500 local jobs, including around 480 positions for pilots and cabin
crew.
“Ryanair is delighted to announce our biggest ever
Winter schedule for Morocco, delivering 5.3m low-fare seats across 156 routes,
including 17 exciting new routes and the opening of our new Rabat base for
Winter,” said Ryanair CEO Eddie Wilson.
Morocco becomes increasingly important to Ryanair
The airline describes Morocco as one of its
fastest-growing and most important markets. The expansion comes as the country
continues to develop its tourism infrastructure and international air
connectivity in preparation for further visitor growth and the 2030 FIFA World
Cup.
“Our record Winter 2026 schedule will boost year-round
connectivity across the Kingdom, drive inbound tourism from across Europe,
support regional economic development, and help deliver Morocco’s ambitious
tourism growth strategy ahead of the 2030 FIFA World Cup,” Wilson said.
Ryanair also highlighted its cooperation with the
Moroccan government, the Moroccan National Tourist Office and airport operator
ONDA. According to Wilson, the airline intends to continue investing in Morocco
over the longer term and further expand passenger numbers, aircraft and routes.
