Eurowings is entering 2026 with a series of
developments spanning technology, employer branding, customer services and
route expansion. From high-speed internet in the air to new travel options from
regional airports, the value airline is strengthening its positioning for both
passengers and employees.
High-speed internet above the clouds
From 2026, passengers flying with Eurowings will
benefit from significantly faster onboard internet. As part of a Lufthansa
Group-wide initiative, all existing aircraft and future deliveries will be
equipped with high-speed connectivity. This will allow streaming, cloud-based
working and other data-intensive applications during the flight.
The upgrade will be implemented in cooperation with
Starlink, a leading provider of inflight connectivity. Using satellite
technology, the system enables an online experience comparable to that on the
ground. The rollout is scheduled to begin in the second half of 2026 and will
cover not only flights from major Eurowings bases such as Berlin, Cologne/Bonn,
Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Palma de Mallorca and Stuttgart, but the entire route
network.
Top employer recognition for Eurowings
Eurowings has been named a Leading Employer 2026,
ranking among the top one per cent of employers in Germany. The distinction is
based on an independent meta-study that analysed around 500,000 companies and
evaluated data from more than 300 sources, including employee reviews, external
audits and social media analyses.
The award reflects Eurowings’ commitment to fostering
a professional working environment built on appreciation and development.
Information on career opportunities and entry paths at Eurowings is available
via the airline’s official channels.
Flight vouchers as a flexible gift option
Eurowings is expanding its product offering with
flight vouchers that can be used as gifts. Customers can personalise the
vouchers and select from different designs, making them suitable for occasions
such as birthdays, weddings or as a special thank-you. The vouchers are
designed to offer flexibility while encouraging memorable travel experiences.
New summer route from Graz to Olbia
Eurowings is also expanding its summer 2026 flight
programme from Graz. From 22 May 2026, the airline will operate a once-weekly
nonstop service to Olbia on the Italian island of Sardinia. With a flight time
of around 90 minutes, the route provides quick access to one of the
Mediterranean’s most popular holiday destinations.
With the addition of Olbia, Eurowings’ summer offering
from Styria will increase to twelve routes. The programme combines leisure
destinations with key German cities including Berlin, Düsseldorf and Hamburg,
further strengthening Graz’s connectivity within the Eurowings network.
