Taiwan Tourism Administration will return to NATAS
Holidays 2026 in Singapore with a pavilion designed around increasingly
personalised travel habits. Under the theme “Find Your Taiwan Way”, the
destination will present different ways to experience the island according to
individual interests, travel pace and family needs.
From August 21 to 23, visitors to Singapore EXPO will
be able to explore ideas ranging from food and cultural experiences to mountain
scenery, wellness, rail journeys and family travel. The concept is aimed both
at first-time visitors and at travellers who already know Taiwan and are
looking for new regions or more specialised experiences.
Personal interests shape travel decisions
The campaign reflects a broader shift towards more
individually curated holidays. According to Skyscanner’s Travel Trends 2026
survey cited by Taiwan Tourism Administration, 38 per cent of Singapore
respondents plan to travel with family, including on multigenerational trips.
The same survey found that 42 per cent intend to
explore local supermarkets or grocery stores abroad, while 33 per cent are
interested in visiting famous bookstores or libraries. Another 31 per cent plan
to take part in summer mountain activities.
Taiwan sees this as a strong fit with its tourism
offer, which allows travellers to combine street food, markets and urban
culture with mountains, hot springs and slower regional journeys within a
relatively compact destination.
“For Singapore travellers, Taiwan is both familiar and
constantly evolving,” said Paul Shih, Director of the Taiwan Tourism
Administration Singapore Office. “Our aim is not only to introduce what is new,
but to help travellers shape a Taiwan holiday around their own interests,
whether that means food, culture, nature, wellness, rail journeys or regional
discovery.”
From hot springs to mountain landscapes
The new “Find Your Taiwan Way” concept follows the
“Taiwan 100 Ways” campaign presented at the March 2026 edition of NATAS
Holidays. This time, the focus shifts more clearly towards interest-led and
seasonal travel.
Travellers seeking relaxation can combine hot spring
destinations such as Beitou, Jiaoxi and Zhiben with regional exploration.
Nature-focused itineraries can include Hehuan Mountain, Alishan or the silver
grass season along the Caoling Historic Trail.
Food remains another central theme. Winter dishes such
as ginger duck hot pot are being promoted alongside seasonal events, while
festive travellers can plan trips around Taipei 101’s New Year’s Eve fireworks
and countdown celebrations across the island.
Rail travel and routes linking mountain and coastal
regions are also being highlighted as options for visitors wanting to explore
Taiwan at a slower pace.
100 destinations and more than 100 events
Additional travel ideas are being drawn from the
2026–2027 Taiwan Tourism 100 Spotlights programme, which highlights
destinations across all 22 counties and cities.
The 2026–2027 Tourism Biennial Calendar adds 109
events, including 36 classified as international-level and 73 as national-level
activities. Among them are the Taiwan International Balloon Festival, Taiwan
Cycling Festival, Hot Springs Season, autumn foliage train tours, Hakka art
routes along Provincial Highway 3, the Taoyuan Longgang Rice Noodle Festival,
the Nantou Chocolate and Coffee Festival and the Sun Moon Lake Firefly
Festival.
These programmes form part of Taiwan’s broader effort
to encourage visitors to travel beyond the best-known cities and attractions
and to explore local communities, landscapes and regional cultures.
Pavilion combines performances and hands-on activities
At NATAS Holidays, the destination will translate
these themes into live experiences. The Taiwan Pavilion will feature
performances by the Taiwan Acrobatic Troupe, whose programme combines
traditional folk arts with contemporary staging inspired by Taiwan’s
round-the-clock urban energy.
Visitors can also take part in a 20- to 25-minute
Taiwanese coffee workshop. The activity introduces the island’s farm-to-table
coffee culture and different flavour profiles before participants create their
own blend.
A wool-felt workshop takes inspiration from Taiwanese
breakfast favourites such as danbing, an egg crepe, and luobogao, or radish
cake. A separate family activity focuses on farm-themed scented sachets,
linking craft with Taiwan’s agricultural culture.
Travel formalities become easier
Taiwan Tourism Administration is also drawing
attention to changes in arrival procedures. Travellers who are required to
complete the Taiwan Arrival Card can now submit it online up to seven days
before entering the country.
The Taiwan Pavilion at NATAS Holidays 2026 will be
located at Singapore EXPO, Hall 3, Booth 3H07, from August 21 to 23.
