Marella Cruises is expanding its non-alcoholic drinks
range across the fleet, responding to growing demand for alternatives to
traditional alcoholic beverages. From August 2026, the TUI UK cruise line will
introduce 18 alcohol-free cocktails, six 0% ABV spirits, four alcohol-free
wines and additional beer and cider options.
The new products will be split between the standard
All Inclusive package and the Premium All Inclusive upgrade. While all guests
will gain access to a wider range of non-alcoholic drinks, the premium package
will include the full selection of 0% spirits and specially created cocktails.
More choice in the standard All Inclusive package
The expanded All Inclusive offering will include
alcohol-free red, white, rosé and sparkling wine, along with Heineken 0% and
Somersby 0% cider.
Marella Cruises is also adding gluten-free Estrella
beer to the standard drinks package, broadening the choice for guests with
specific dietary requirements.
The changes are intended to make the drinks programme
more flexible without forcing guests who avoid alcohol to rely solely on soft
drinks and juices.
Six alcohol-free spirits join the premium range
Guests choosing Premium All Inclusive will be able to
order six 0% ABV spirits from Lyre’s. The selection includes alternatives to
gin, bourbon, rum and tequila, alongside coffee and aperitif-style products.
These spirits form the basis of a new menu of 18
alcohol-free cocktails.
Among the additions are the Grapefruit Refresher, made
with a gin-style 0% spirit, pink grapefruit and soda, and the Nojito, combining
a rum-style alternative with mint, lime and soda. The Summer Sour uses lemon,
soda, mint and basil, while the Gentle Fashioned is designed as an alcohol-free
interpretation of the classic Old Fashioned.
Customer feedback helped shape the new menu
Marella Cruises says the expansion follows feedback
from guests as well as a review of gaps in its existing drinks selection.
“We are pleased to be expanding our non-alcoholic
drinks menus onboard across our ships,” says Luke Saunders, Food and Drink
Development Manager at Marella Cruises. “After listening to customer feedback
and reviewing the gaps in our menu, we want to enhance a customer’s experience
onboard and cater to those who would prefer a non-alcoholic alternative.”
He added that the company expects both new and
returning guests to make use of the expanded 0% cocktail range.
Fleetwide rollout from August
The enhanced non-alcoholic drinks programme will be
introduced across the Marella Cruises fleet from August 2026.
The move reflects a broader shift in hospitality
towards more sophisticated alcohol-free options, with cruise lines increasingly
treating 0% drinks as a distinct part of the onboard experience rather than
simply as substitutes for alcoholic beverages.
