Ryanair, Europe’s No. 1 airline, today announced a record-breaking
winter schedule for Amman, featuring more than 300,000 seats across 18 routes
connecting Jordan with 12 European countries, including Austria, Belgium,
France, Germany, Italy, and Spain.
The rapid return to full operations at Amman Airport
highlights the pragmatic approach of airport authorities and the
business-friendly stance of the Jordanian government, further strengthening
Jordan’s position as one of the Middle East’s leading tourism destinations.
Ryanair reaffirmed its commitment to driving tourism growth in Jordan by
offering Europe’s lowest fares and encouraging travelers to spend in local
hotels, restaurants, and attractions—supporting job creation and economic
development.
Major Investment Plan for Jordan
Alongside its expanded winter operations, Ryanair
unveiled an ambitious new investment proposal for the Hashemite Kingdom of
Jordan, which includes:
·
Increasing annual passenger traffic by 360%, to reach 3 million seats
per year
·
Operating 50 direct routes from European cities to Jordan
·
Launching new flights to Marka Airport (Amman)
·
Maintaining year-round services to Aqaba
Strong Commitment to Tourism and Growth
Ryanair CEO Eddie Wilson said:
“Ryanair is delighted to announce our full return to
operations in Jordan this October with a record-breaking winter schedule for
Amman. With 84 weekly flights across 18 routes to 12 European countries—including
Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, and Spain—this investment will ensure Jordan
remains a key winter destination with improved connectivity, increased tourism,
and economic growth driven by Europe’s lowest airfares.
Our rapid return to Jordan builds on a long-standing
partnership with the Kingdom, whose growth-oriented strategy has kept Jordan at
the forefront of Middle Eastern tourism. We are also proud to present our new
investment plan, which will grow Ryanair’s annual capacity to 3 million seats,
establish 50 direct European routes across Amman, Marka, and Aqaba, and
generate new jobs, tourism, and sustainable growth.
We look forward to working closely with the Hashemite
Kingdom of Jordan to bring millions of passengers from across Europe to
experience the country’s rich culture and unique heritage.”
Strengthening Jordan’s Tourism Vision
Jordan’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Dr. Emad
Hijazeen, welcomed the announcement:
“The launch of 18 Ryanair routes to Amman for the
2025/26 winter season marks a truly exceptional milestone for Jordan’s aviation
and tourism sectors.
This expansion not only strengthens Jordan’s position
as a leading tourism and investment hub in the region, but also plays a key
role in supporting our national economy and creating new opportunities across
the tourism value chain.
Our partnership with Ryanair, which began in 2018, has
become a model for successful collaboration built on trust, resilience, and a
shared vision.”
Dr. Abdul Razzaq Arabiyat, Managing Director of the
Jordan Tourism Board, added:
“Since the beginning of our partnership in 2018,
Ryanair has been a vital strategic partner in positioning Jordan as an
accessible and competitive destination for European travelers.
Together, we have achieved outstanding
results—welcoming more than one million visitors from Europe, diversifying
source markets, and helping Jordan reach record-breaking tourism numbers in
multiple seasons.
Beyond routes and capacity, our joint marketing
initiatives since 2018 have been transformative in presenting Jordan globally
as a must-visit destination—appealing to culture enthusiasts, adventure
seekers, and families alike. These campaigns are carefully localized and
adapted for each market to ensure maximum impact and engagement across Europe.”
