The Lufthansa Group has released its Summer 2026
flight schedule, now open for booking. Across its airlines – Lufthansa, SWISS,
Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Edelweiss, Discover Airlines and ITA
Airways – the Group will offer over 14,000 weekly connections to 330
destinations in around 100 countries, linking Europe’s major hubs in Germany,
Switzerland, Austria, Belgium and Italy.
Lufthansa Airlines: More long-haul choices and stable
operations
From Frankfurt, Lufthansa will fly five times weekly
to St. Louis, Rio de Janeiro and Cape Town, and daily to Raleigh/Durham, Washington
and Nairobi. New to the network is Trondheim (Norway), served four times per
week from May 1, 2026. In Munich, long-haul routes to São Paulo and Johannesburg
will continue through summer, operated by modern Airbus A350-900s.
Due to high operating costs in Germany, Lufthansa will
reduce some feeder routes and discontinue unprofitable connections such as Frankfurt–Toulouse
and Munich–Tallinn/Oviedo next spring.
SWISS: New routes to Poznan and Rijeka
Starting March 29, 2026, SWISS will connect Zurich
with Poznan and, during July and August, with Rijeka on Croatia’s Kvarner Bay.
The airline will also boost frequencies on routes to Alicante, Valencia,
Manchester, Tirana, Venice and others. On long-haul routes, Tokyo will be
served daily during peak months and five times a week otherwise.
Austrian Airlines: Southern Europe and “coolcation”
favorites
Austrian Airlines will strengthen its Mediterranean
network with additional flights to Greece, Spain and Italy. Following strong
demand, last summer’s “coolcation” destinations – Sylt, Edinburgh and the Lofoten
Islands – will return with more capacity.
ITA Airways: Return to London Heathrow
ITA Airways will resume its Rome Fiumicino–London
Heathrow service, operating twice daily. Seasonal flights from Rome and Milan
to popular summer destinations in Greece, Spain and on the Italian islands will
also expand, as the carrier continues to grow connectivity from its Rome hub.
Brussels Airlines: New African destination
Brussels Airlines adds Kilimanjaro (Tanzania) to its
network from June 2026, marking its 18th destination in sub-Saharan Africa. The
airline will also increase flights to Freetown (Sierra Leone) from five to six
weekly. In Europe, capacity grows mainly to Spain, Portugal and Italy.
Edelweiss: Expanding long-haul leisure travel
From Zurich, Edelweiss will launch twice-weekly
flights to Windhoek (Namibia) in June 2026, and increase frequencies to Seattle,
Punta Cana and Tampa. Seasonal services to Halifax, Cape Town and Colombo will
also continue.
Discover Airlines: New routes and year-round service
Discover Airlines adds Shannon (Ireland) and Brindisi
(Italy) to its Frankfurt network, both twice weekly. For the first time, Larnaca
(Cyprus) joins the schedule with daily flights from Frankfurt and Munich. On
long-haul routes, Frankfurt–Seychelles becomes year-round, and an additional
fifth weekly flight to Las Vegas will operate every Saturday.
With thousands of weekly connections and new
destinations across all continents, the Lufthansa Group continues to expand its
reach and offer travelers more choice for Summer 2026.
