Emirates and Air Peace have activated a bilateral
interline agreement, further strengthening their partnership and expanding air
connectivity between Africa, the United Arab Emirates and London. The agreement
brings together Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, and Air
Peace, West Africa’s largest carrier, to offer passengers smoother and more
flexible travel options across their combined networks.
Under the interline arrangement, customers of both
airlines benefit from single-ticket itineraries with through-checked baggage on
selected routes. The streamlined process is designed to improve comfort and
convenience, particularly for travellers connecting between regional African
destinations and long-haul international services.
Expanded access across West Africa
In addition to the 13 Nigerian cities already
available to Emirates passengers via Air Peace, the enhanced agreement opens
new connection points across West Africa. Travellers can now reach Banjul in
The Gambia and Dakar in Senegal via Abidjan, as well as Freetown in Sierra
Leone and Monrovia in Liberia via Accra. These additional gateways extend
access to Emirates’ global network and premium onboard product for a broader
range of African markets.
At the same time, Air Peace is able to connect its
extensive West and Central African route system into Emirates’ hub in Dubai, as
well as to key international destinations including London Heathrow, London
Gatwick and London Stansted, alongside regional hubs such as Abidjan, Accra and
Lagos. The agreement responds to strong demand for travel between Nigeria and
the United Kingdom, offering Air Peace customers greater choice, flexibility
and global reach.
Strengthening aviation and tourism links
Adnan Kazim, Deputy President and Chief Commercial
Officer at Emirates, said the enhanced partnership supports the airline’s
strategy to deepen its presence across Africa. He noted that working with
partners such as Air Peace creates new opportunities for travellers while
supporting Nigeria’s aviation, tourism and trade sectors and encouraging
international visitors to explore the region via Lagos.
From Air Peace’s perspective, the agreement represents
a significant step in its long-term strategy. Nowel Ngala, Chief Commercial
Officer at Air Peace, described the partnership as a key milestone in
connecting Africa more efficiently to global markets. By combining Air Peace’s
regional strength with Emirates’ international reach, the two airlines aim to
deliver seamless connectivity and improved travel experiences for African
travellers while reinforcing Air Peace’s role within the global aviation ecosystem.
Premium experience and growing networks
Emirates currently operates a Boeing 777-300ER on its
Dubai–Lagos route, offering a premium long-haul experience with regionally
inspired multi-course dining, a wide selection of beverages and more than 6,500
entertainment channels on its ice inflight entertainment system, including
Nollywood titles. As one of only two airlines offering First Class service into
Nigeria, Emirates positions the route as a flagship premium connection.
Air Peace operates a fleet of more than 50 aircraft,
including Boeing 777s, Boeing 737s and Embraer jets, serving an expanding
network of domestic, regional and international routes. The airline continues
to focus on strengthening intra-African connectivity, supporting trade and
tourism and contributing to economic development across the continent.
Tickets under the Emirates–Air Peace interline
agreement are available via emirates.com, flyairpeace.com and through travel
agents.
Current Air Peace destinations available to Emirates
passengers via Lagos include Asaba, Abuja, Akure, Benin City, Calabar, Enugu,
Ilorin, Kaduna, Kano, Port Harcourt, Owerri, Warri and Uyo.
