Delta Air Lines has inaugurated its first-ever nonstop
flight from Atlanta to Marrakech, marking a milestone in connecting the
Southeastern United States with North Africa. The inaugural flight departed on Oct.
25, symbolizing not only a new route but also a celebration of culture,
connectivity and opportunity.
A festive send-off in Atlanta
At Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport,
the departure gate turned into a scene of celebration. Passengers were greeted
with Moroccan music, colorful decorations and trays of traditional sweets. A
ribbon-cutting ceremony brought together Delta employees, airport partners and
customers to mark the historic occasion.
“Delta’s new nonstop service to Marrakech marks an
exciting milestone in our commitment to connect the U.S. and Africa,” said Christine
Marchand-Pardo, Managing Director of EMEAI Operations at Delta. “This route
opens the door to one of the world’s most vibrant and culturally rich
destinations, making travel more seamless for our customers.”
Seamless travel and signature comfort
The new route operates three times weekly from
Atlanta, offering travelers both convenience and Delta’s renowned premium
experience. Guests can enjoy lie-flat Delta One suites, curated dining and
thoughtful amenities across all cabins. The service reinforces Atlanta’s status
as a major global hub and brings the magic of Marrakech within easier reach
than ever before.
A warm Moroccan welcome
Upon landing in Marrakech, passengers were welcomed
with traditional Moroccan hospitality — mint tea, local pastries and warm
smiles. The arrival celebration reflected the essence of the Red City, known
for its vibrant souks, ornate architecture and centuries-old traditions.
A bridge between two worlds
Delta’s new Atlanta–Marrakech service opens new
horizons for travelers and deepens cultural and economic ties between North
America and North Africa. Whether exploring Marrakech’s ancient medinas,
relaxing in a riad or sampling Moroccan cuisine, travelers can now begin their
adventure with Delta.
Welcome aboard – Morocco awaits.
