Delta Air Lines has been named the second-best
employer in the world in Forbes magazine’s annual World’s Best Employers 2025
ranking, climbing four spots from last year. Out of more than 900 companies
evaluated, Delta stood out for its strong commitment to listening to employees
and fostering an inclusive, supportive workplace culture.
Listening, responding, empowering
In its announcement, Forbes highlighted Delta’s open
communication model and employee-first approach. Through its long-standing “open-door
policy”, staff members can contact company leaders directly—by email or in
person—while senior executives regularly visit local teams to share updates and
answer questions.
This approach, combined with regular employee
engagement surveys, enables Delta to respond swiftly to workforce needs. Based
on feedback, the company introduced an Emergency Savings Program in 2023, which
now counts over 40,000 participants. Similarly, after employees requested
greater flexibility in travel benefits, Delta expanded its pass travel
privileges to include an additional companion.
Recognition across the U.S.
Earlier this year, Forbes also named Delta one of America’s
Best Employers 2025, ranking it No. 1 in Georgia, Michigan, and Utah. The
airline’s consistent recognition reflects its ongoing investment in employee
wellbeing, career growth, and open communication across all departments.
How Forbes compiles the ranking
To determine the World’s Best Employers 2025, Forbes
partnered with the market research firm Statista, surveying more than 300,000
employees in over 50 countries. Eligible companies operate in at least two of
six world regions and employ more than 1,000 people.
Participants rated their employers based on salary,
talent development, work-life balance, diversity, and remote work options, and
indicated whether they would recommend their company to others. Responses from
the past three years were weighted, with greater emphasis on recent data and
feedback from current employees.
In total, 850 companies from 48 countries earned a
place on the list—cementing Delta’s position not only as a leading global
carrier, but also as one of the world’s most trusted and respected workplaces.
